Review summary

We were disappointed at the cruise lines last minute decision of not stopping at Costa Rica. A word of caution: Norwegian Cruise lines $99 offer of round trip fare wasn't as good as it sounded. For very budget minded cruisers it may work if you want to fly at very odd hours and with not so reputable airlines as well. Also, once they make the reservation for you to fly and at any time at their convenience (not yours), you are stuck with it. Under no circumstances, they will change it or even entertain any call from you as well. Their Airline Reservation department people are rude. My booking agent had the same experience when she tried to talk to them. We will not take this offer again from them. We will book our own airlines in the future. Overall, cruising experience was very good !

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Good

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dinning room foods were great, Garden Cafe buffet was okay.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pool and fitness centers were good enough.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Main show room activities were good, Other musicians, bands, DJs were good as well. First half (first seven days) comedians were great. Second half comedians were terrible.

Children's Programs

We didn't have children with us nor did we observe their activities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward was excellent and other waiters were very well trained and welcoming.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Okay and the general areas were throughout clean and well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It seemed that the cabin space was a bit narrower. Bath room size was good.

Ship tip

Not too many outdoor/deck area activities on this ship except water slides. Couple other activities e.g. speedway and laser tag ones were subject to extra charge. Too many additional restaurants were subject to extra charges as well.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Embarkation port and didn't take any excursion.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
This was our 5th visit to this port and didn't feel like taking on an excursion.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
This was our 5th visit to this port as well and just took a short walk to the town.

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
This was our 5th visit to this port as well and stayed by the shopping area near the terminal

Acapulco, Mexico

4 out of 5
This was our first time here. Town looked good and very Picturesque, however, due to rain we decided to stay near the terminal area and did some shopping.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

2 out of 5
Didn't look good. We don't understand why do they bother to dock here. Rumor had it that it is not a very safe place to visit and besides the tours were further away in the town and expensive. Spend a couple of hours in the vicinity of the terminal to relax and did some shopping.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Very good experience and an educational one as well to see how the ship crosses different lock gates at different level. We had this experience twice, once going in from the Pacific Side and again getting out from the Canal to the Caribbean Side. Gatun lake is huge and very scenic.

Oranjestad, Aruba

4 out of 5
It was a crowded tourist spot and we enjoyed the 2 hr island tour. Has plenty of shopping areas and eateries adjacent to the port.

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
This was our disembarkation port and didn't take any excursion here. We had been here many times before

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very Good.

I was hoping to see some different ports on my PC cruise later this week, but they changed them as well. At least you went to Aruba. I feel this might be a 15-day sea day cruise for me.
