Review summary

Do not waste your money with Norwegian. After all of the difficulties we encountered we were offered a credit of $100 towards our next Cruise on Norwegian. I sent an email back to the Customer service Manager who sent me the offer and let him know that I would never sail this cruise line again even if was free.

The room stewards and dining are staff are great. The management is terrible. We were delayed getting on board because our transfer bus arranged thru Norwegian broke down on the freeway. The ship was delayed leaving port so our busload could get on. Luggage was supposed to be in room when we arrived but did not get to room until after 7:00 pm. Worst part of all the customer service was when we tried to make reservations for the on board shows....they were completely booked, we did not get it see a single show on board.

Dont do it....this is not a new ship....our bathroom smelled so bad we had to keep the door closed and the sliding glass door open for fresh air. The food on this ship is disgusting , inedible about 75% of the time

Snakemama - I am not a Cruise Director on this or any ship. That is just a ranking on this site and not an actual job title. It is based on the number of posts on this site and nothing else. Hopefully you will have a great experience on your cruise, as most have on this ship. That is one reason I question the validity of this review. Most have rated this ship 4-5 stars. Some post fake reviews on this site for a variety of reasons - they have a grudge against the cruise line from either a bad experience as a cruiser or former employee, they work for another cruise line, just get a thrill out of watching the replies, etc. The fake reviews have similarities - Little, if any, comments on what was done in the ports, no previous cruises listed, bash everything about the ship except possibly their cabin steward and / or wait staff, etc.

WOW... whaaaaat a review. I'm stunned! I've been on several NCL ships and never had an experience such as this as this one. I'm so sorry you guys experience on the Joy was not a good one. I'm sailing the Joy in December, I will be sure to complete my review upon my return. I won't say "give it another try"...however because that is totally to your choice. I will ask that you at least 'think' about it. As far JT1962's(Cruise Director) responses...JT1962, while defending the ship and halfway being sympathetic with this cruiser's concerns, you kinda helped prove his point about management. In one of your responses, you state that he is bashing the ship and he probably won't change other cruisers minds if that's what's he's trying to do. In MY opinion, that wasn't a good response to a cruiser who feels like he had a bad experience. Maybe a different approach should have been taken. Sometimes people need to vent...those recieving, should just listen, apologize for them feeling the way they do and offer solutions if possible. I'm going to change my mind because of someone's else's bad experience, but I still think that as a Cruise Director, you should have crafted your response differently. My thoughts... DON'TSAILHERE: I hope you give it some thought and MAYBE try again in the far off future. I've never had a bad experience with NCL, and because of that, I haven't even thought about cruising with another Cruise Line. Again, my apologies for your bad experience. Sorry that happened. That was awful. But they held the entire ship for your bus... so that's good. I imagine your luggage was on that bus, thus delayed, thus impossible to get on before you. But please reconsider ncl. Pretty good cruise line.

Sorry you had a bad trip, but rating almost everything on the ship as horrible, saying 75% of the food was inedible and saying nothing at all about what you did in the fantastic ports in Alaska makes it appear you are just bashing the cruise line and will probably not change any future cruisers mind about cruising with NCL, if that was your intention.
