Review summary

We had the most amazing time on this cruise. It was the perfect vacation for my husband and I!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Lots of people, but fairly quick and painless

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved the variety and quality of food! We were amazed at how much variety the buffet had, and most everything was very good. A few things were just ok. The main dining rooms and specialty restaurants were excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The go-karts and laser tag were pricey, but also fun. The fitness center was pretty good, and not too crowded. We never went in the pool, but the hot tub was nice.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows (Footloose, Elements, Beatles) were really fun and well done. We had fun watching trivia and game show contests in the Atrium as well.

Children's Programs

We didn't bring our children on the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff on the ship were so friendly! Our room steward learned our names very quickly and always greeted us when we passed by him in the hallway. Staff members were happy to answer a question or just chat with you for a few minutes. The waiters in the main dining room weren't always the fastest, but that didn't bother us at all.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything seemed very clean and well-maintained. I can't compare it to other ships, but it seemed very well designed and easy to find all the main areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our room was comfortable and had enough space for the two of us. It was definitely small as I had expected, but I was surprised by how well the space was used.

Ship tip

The Observation Lounge is awesome! It was most crowded on Glacier Bay day, but it wasn't too hard to find a seat somewhere on any other day.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

We live in the Seattle area.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Juneau was a nice town. We went up the Mount Roberts tramway and enjoyed that. The nature center at the top is mostly a gift shop, but we walked around on the trail and saw some bald eagles from the tram which was really cool!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the White Pass Railway train excursion. It was awesome! The scenery was beautiful, and I really enjoyed hearing and reading about the gold rush miners and some of the history of the railway.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Glacier Bay was amazing! It's great to have the park rangers on board, though you couldn't always hear them very well over the PA system. Getting up close to a few glaciers was breathtaking. We happened to wander out to the bow of the ship right when we were approaching the main glacier you could see. AMAZING!!!

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

We've been there before and don't live too far away so we opted to stay on the boat.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We ate breakfast and left a bit later, but we waited a lot longer to get off the boat than to get on. It was about an hour and twenty minutes to get all the way off and past customs.
