I would not recommend this cruise line. I spoke so so many people on the cruise and everyone was so disappointed because most people went on other cruise and got royalty treatment and on this cruise line if your not in a haven you got 1 start treatment. Our bed never got made well with the animal towels or the room even smell clean. I did enough research while on this cruise and ask enough people of there experience and I'm don't with this cruise line. Our first and last with NCL. You make Carnival looks like royalty. Royal Caribbean, Carnival & Disney can have my money. If management don't change it will be like this always so don't waste your money and let me safe you the heartache and bad memories go book another cruise line.

Food was the worse part. Everyday the same thing. For breakfast it was same for 12 days. They could have change it up but no. There was no shrimp until new years even. No big food feast for Christmas or New years. No lobster or anything fancy, for the price we paid for a holiday cruise please save yourself the pain and go on Royal Caribbean where lobster is for free and shrimp every night. As for desert it was 4 or 5 selection and they did rotate it every night but most of it was tasteless. I don't think the chief taste the food. Fruits, well this is a big joke. It cantaloupe, honey due and water melon the whole cruise. They did run out of bananas at breakfast. Lunch same thing again as for dinner everyday. Now the Indian food was off the hook, I never had so many different type of dal as I did on that cruise. There food lack flavor so the Indian food had all the flavors. As for dinner its about 3 menus mix up every night and very small portion. If you have a group of 10 or more they will split you up because they don't know how to accommodate you. The waiter are different each night so no one knows you. They are short staff so be ready to wait for food. There is no entertainment at dinner, no dancing or singing like the other cruises. These waiters are over worked and tired. Sometimes the food is cold and at times while you finishing your meal they start to clean up other tables to pack it away for the night. It was so poorly manage and this management issue comes from the top. Safe yourself and don't order room service because there is a fee of 9.95 but you will get bill 11 instead. I got food poison from eating fish and there doctor try to blame it on gastro issue. So many people was sick on this ship, my entire family was sick with different things. If your looking to loose weight then this is your cruise.

What activity? where was it? Indoor TV with movies, outdoor pool. A small room for show. New Years even Caribbean show was the best. Why would you drop colorful balloons on New Years eve? What happen to black and gold? There was no effort put into making this holiday cruise a holiday cruise. I didn't see photographer taking photos like the other cruise line.

Security was never there and teen children was in there drinking and partying. When people complain then they would ask all under 18 to leave then 10 mins later they come back in. No one was at the door. This ship is looking for a lawsuit with there lack for proper employees.
Lets talk casino, if you bring your own money and you play slop you will be charge 2.75 for each machine you play on. Another charge, cause they want you to use your credit card.

Everyone stateroom smell like pee. Rug not clean, sheets dirty and couch smell. This ship needs to go get refurbish with new furniture and design.

size was ok, balcony was small compare to other cruise line. Lots of storage space than other cruise line. Bathroom smell like pee the entire 12 days.
New York is not ready for big crowd, the please working was so rude and they were yelling at people. Over 400 people coming in and only 1 escalator working with 1 elevator inside the building and another far outside. It was so cold that day that you had to stand in the cold for over 40 mins then you have employees yelling at you about where to go. They have a big step and no can can use it because it's a safety issue. They need to go to Florida and see how it's done.
I’m very surprised at this shocking review! Been on NCL Getaway twice, loved it and had no problems. I’ve been on five other NCL ships as well as two Carnival, two Royal Caribbean and two Celebrity. I know people like different things and many are loyal to a particular cruise line, but for us our favourite is Norwegian.
I know NCL and this ship well, I’m absolutely convinced you are the issue here having read your review. May be time for a little self reflection. Just saying…
All this research you did should have been done before your cruise. If you want “the royal treatment”. It’s definitely available but you are going to have to pay. NCL offers that in their Haven.
When I went on my Escape cruise, the CD mentioned NCL is not making towel animals due to the environment..too many towels and water being used. You can ask. I got a towel animal from my state room attendant when I took the getaway I got one and I was so grateful. We took Royal Caribbean on Liberty of the Seas and every other day we got a towel animal. We embarked on Thursday so we got one Friday Sunday Tuesday and Thursday and it was just very nice to get them and I was very appreciative. A cruise should not be based on towel animals. It should be based on how you feel and what came of it. We were on the getaway this year and they took away two ports and we couldn't go to the private island due to the ocean being a little choppy for the tenders. It was very disappointing and going to two ports which the other one was Nassau and all and it was just not good. My husband surprised me with her cruise on Royal Caribbean and that was for August which we took it was fantastic. We went on the Canada New England run. Disney is way too expensive I would not and there's a lot of kids on there if you don't want to be with a lot of kids. Carnival is family-friendly try that I'm sure your child will like the kids club.
The stateroom attendant cleans once a day..as after COVID. All lines that I've been on after COVID and if you needed your cabin cleaned, there is a switch to put it on for make or not to make up or whatever the words are. The switch is in the cabin and will show red or green on the outside to be made or not.
Try another cruise line and compare.
