Review summary

Istanbul should receive well more publicity than it does as it was probably the highlight of the cruise. Great city, great people and not enough time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy and properly coordinated

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Some specialty restaurants have little to nothing to be jealous of top restaurants inland. The French restaurant is a truly hidden gem.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center can get a little crowded so those the pools.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Musicians are great! some excellent performers. Million dollar quartert probably more apt for children as the Burn the Floor spectacle is too sexy for children.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My teenager daughter love it, my 9 year old didnt like it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
overall staff is well trainned and very serviceable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
common areas clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin is a little small but enough for sleeping. if you plan on staying more time in the cabin (other than just sleeping), with 4 people can get crowded.

Ship tip

Take the speciality restaurants package

Istanbul, Turkey

Friday is the day the mesquites close. Cruiseline should have warned about this. 7 hours in Istanbul is not enough. Should be a day like in Livorno, with 10+ hours to explore the city.

Great itinerary. Glad you had fun. Yes Friday is the Muslim sabbath so you wouldn’t be able to tour while they are having services in their mosques. Every port has certain holidays or other events that could mean limited access. It would be great if the cruise lines could tell everyone the info that is important to each person about each port. But not practical and they don’t want to advertise bad news anyway.

I have never taken this itinerary and I'm glad you had a good time. I was on the getaway in March and we did see burn the floor and million dollar quartet. Burn the floor really wasn't for children I don't know how many children really were in the theater probably not that many. Our cruise director was Alvin in March of 2023 Alvin our assistant Cruise director was Rod. Did you have them?
