ironically my vegetarian (plus fish) wife and I both enjoyed the moderno Brazilian barbecue as the best specialty restaurant despite the fact that she didn't eat a single bit of the meat. The moderno has the best salad bar on the ship with the best sushi and salmon. She was in heaven.

Don't book 10 days you will run out of things to do. very repetitive schedule catering to older people

The top deck is a nice quiet place to sit outside, if you want to get some sunshine and not be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of pool activities and noise.

claim your seat at the pool EARLY if you want to spend time at the pool.

Really look in to the ships policy for people using a manual wheel chair. It is not as easy as you think to navigate the ship as you are led to believe.

book in the middle of the ship.... I was forward, which was nice for the shows in the Stardust, but eating on the back of the boat.... was a longggggggggg walk, but... fine! lol

Take advantage of the Great Outdoors area. Its really nice, breezy, usually relaxing, a hidden gem on the GEM

Please be respectful and place your plates, discarded food, and garbage on a table or take it back to your cabin so that your steward can dispose of it and not all over the ship! Be respectful of your fellow cruisers and the crew members!

I try and not let things bother me or take away my fun so if an employee is having a bad day i try and remember i have bad days at work too. As for all of us our vacation is what we make it so make it a good one and enjoy

I'm going to copy somebody else, but take water bottles with you. You can get water at the buffet on the 12th floor (back of the ship) at any time.

The Haven was well worth the $. I would not sail on the ship without the benefits of the Haven

Enjoy the entire ship!! We spent a lot of time on the Deck 7 because of all the bars and Star Dust Theatre. We enjoyed the Spinnaker Lounge too.

We love the Gem. It has been our 3rd time and we still love it! Not too small or too big and a lot of very nice people. Excellent staff and service! The cruise Director (Lorena) was the best. Always around, very involved, upbeat and a wonderful personality. One could feel that the entire staff were happy and upbeat just like her. Do not miss a trip with her!!!!

tv so small i had to get up and use glasses to read any info. had almost NO information on current cruise. small common areas.

Choose a larger ship with more amenities or a different cruise line.

Bring magnets for the walls to hold stuff, water bottles to fill up versus purchasing expensive water. Bring a highlighter to pick events from the daily. Take photos of the menus, schedules and such because you will keep referring to it through the day.
