We absolutely loved this cruise. This being only our second cruise, cannot say anything negative in comparison to other cruises. Did the Gem have some of the newer amenities you read about on the newer ships...no but who cares. We go on the cruise to relax, spend time with family and hopefully new friends, eat some great food and to drink. The crew on the Gem let us accomplish all these and more. We will be back!!!

Thought all the food and dining areas were great. Did the buffet once. It was cold out when we ate there so seating was limited but that was to be expected.

Never actually went in the pool but loved the sunning areas. Fitness center was great!!! Tried to work off some of the food and drink but lost that competition...lol.

Our room steward Alberto was great!! Took care of all our needs. He and all the staff we ran into were very friendly and always went out of their way to help us in any way possible. Loved Singh at Maltings!! Great bartender!!!! Very friendly and can make a killer LI ice tea.

Great. Was previously on the Breakaway so a completely different layout so took some time to figure out where everything was but great ship!!!
Cabin / Stateroom

Plenty of room. We had the suite so our one son loved all the free movies that came with room. Two teenage boys and wife and I....we never felt squeezed for room. Loved everything our suite offered.
Ship tip
Enjoy the entire ship!! We spent a lot of time on the Deck 7 because of all the bars and Star Dust Theatre. We enjoyed the Spinnaker Lounge too.
Went to Space Center. Liked it but actually didn’t have enough time to see everything. I’m a reader so maybe I read to many of the plaques and what nots which took time.
Singh was great! I ordered a Cuervo and a Stella on about the 5th night of our ten night cruise. From then on, anytime he saw me walking up, he had them ready to go for me. Impeccable service.
