Our cruise was very relaxing and enjoyable. We can't wait to go back on an NCL cruise. Emily from was wonderful to work with. We will be sure to contact Emily the next time we are planning to cruise.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
It was awful. We stood in two lines for well over 2 hours because the ship was very late coming in. It was difficult for the elderly passengers, those with young children, passengers with back and knee problems, and especially for my husband who has foot problems.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room was very good as well as the Moderno, specialty restaurant. The buffet was very good for lunch, but I did not like it for breakfast. We did not go to the buffet for dinner. O'sheehan's was very good.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center every day. Many treadmills were out of service. Was a problem on the first day but after that it was fine. We enjoyed the different activities in the lounges. We did not participate in bingo, the casino, etc
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were outstanding. We especially loved Blazing Boots. The 4 main performers were outstanding. Ashlie Amber was great.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All staff we came in contact with were wonderful. The bartenders in the Atrium, the service in O'Sheehan's and the service in the main dining room were outstanding. O'Sheehan's seemed to be a little understaffed at times but the wait staff were very nice and accommodating under the circumstances. The cruise director was FABULOUS. She was a lot of fun. Our room steward was great.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Some of the public bathrooms were a little untidy but that was after a mad rush to the lady's room after a show, etc. Overall we found the ship to be very clean.

Ship tip
there's something for everyone on this cruise ship. enjoy!
Just got off the Escape. Cruise itself was fine however the rules for cruise ports differ from state to state. I hope that homeland security/customs will improve policy for the future. I’ll be getting on the Gem in July.
Agreed the Manhattan Terminal is better suited as a cattle barn... Little seating for those who can't stand for long. I understand NCL doesn't control the terminal but your think they could have more influence to make it more comfortable. These cruises are often targeted for us Senior Citizen who often have mobility issues. You can get a wheelchair up front but it's not very noticeable and I'm not sure what the rules are to use them.
