Review summary

All in All we had a good time. Wish wheelchair issues werent a problem. By this I mean, issues with cabin, issued with public handicapped bathroom and navigating certain areas of the ship. We loved our excursion to St. Lucia, Bay Gardens Resort and I loved the Island Splendor excursion on Barbados. I cant say that I would use NCL again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Main dining rooms and buffet was good. Staff very friendly and attentive. Disappointed in seafood selections and the Italian restaurant was terrible. Better Italian food in the buffet. We totally enjoyed Cagney's Steakhouse. Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Brazilian restaurant was different, food was also very good. I enjoyed O'Sheehan's Irish Pub. Loved Fish and Chips.

Very disappointed. Staff was very good and attentive. Atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Windows were dirty, so taking pictures of sunset was a disappointment. No table cloths on tables... My fish was under cooked.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was excellent. I cannot say I had any issues with the staff. Everyone was friendly and professional. One staff member at the customer service desk could have done a better job of explaining the disembarkation process on ship for handicapped passengers. This was our first cruise. There was nothing mentioned about disabled passengers in the disembarkation papers delivered to our room.

Ship Quality

Room was dusting, especially cubbies. We had a handicapped cabin with Balcony. The chair my husband was given to use in the shower was not safe. He almost landed on floor twice. After to attempts to rectify the problem they gave him a bench seat. Also safe had issues for a day or two. Safe had to be totally replaced. Also handicapped bathroom by the Bliss lounge had issues with door opening.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin had enough room. Didn't understand why they chose a cabin this a poll in the middle of the room to be handicapped. It made navigation in the room a little challenging. Room a little dusty especially cubbies. All in all it was acceptable.

Ship tip

Really look in to the ships policy for people using a manual wheel chair. It is not as easy as you think to navigate the ship as you are led to believe.

Love it! We did the Bay Gardens Resort Excursion. Really enjoyed that. Staff was wonderful and so attentive. My husband was able to get in for a swim, thanks to Cisco. What a great day we had. Would recommend that excursion to everyone.

Love the Island. Loved shopping and speaking with locals. Had a great time. Just time at this port was too short.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We were first time cruisers and maybe we should have asked more questions. But the Disembarkation process was terrible. The flyer we were given the day before gave no explanation on how the disabled were going to leave the ship. The gentleman at the customer services desk did not explain the process to clearly. Just fill out pink slips for luggage and meet by 10 am at Chinese restaurant. If we knew the amount of people we would have been there earlier. As it was we were there at 9:00 and still made the near bottom of the list. First come First serve...... There needs to be better communication. We came away feeling like NCL would rather not deal with Disabled passengers.
