Not the trip of a lifetime, but a good solid relaxing vacation. by Eeshmeesh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was fun. This was my first solo cruise, so I was a little apprehensive about traveling alone. But I never felt alone. There was always somewhere that I could be around people when I wanted, or somewhere I could find a quiet corner when I did not. I will admit this was not my favorite itinerary. My skin is too fair to be a beach babe. But I have done cold water cruises and wanted to try something a little different. This was a nice cruise...not spectacular, but fun and relaxing.

This was my first cruise,... by pmparrow

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

This was my first cruise, and my first time traveling solo. I was in a studio. It was small, but I did find that I had enough space once everything was organized. I loved the Solo Meet and Greets every night. I met some pretty awesome people there. It also made it easier to prepare for dinners and shows. The live music was decent and I appreciated that there were adult only areas, especially because I was travelling around spring break. I have several dietary restrictions and the kitchen was able to prepare special foods for me. I had a blast and will definitely cruise Norwegian again!

Great time by ginjor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

If cruising on the Escape after June, make sure you stop by the 5:00 Somewhere outdoor bar and see Chips Ohoy. This was our 3rd cruise where he was a bartender and it’s never a dull moment!

Okay, not great experience by MrVercetti

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall most of the elements of the cruise were fine, however for me the food was very disappointing and that is a big part of an all-inclusive vacation experience. Three sea days is also a bit much, especially having two at the end of the cruise, it feels a bit like it's over after visiting Nassau and then you're just heading back. This is not a great itinerary, it's a convenient cruise for the tens of millions of people that live within driving distance of the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.

Enjoyable Bahama experience by tonitmf

Enjoyable cruise. The only warning it would make is be aware of timing of your cruise. I didn't expect all the college Spring Breakers.

Great cruise experience! by veekaydee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Group of 8 including 4 kids. Ship and ports had activities, food, etc suitable for every age we had there. Escape is a beautiful ship with a lot going for her. We made use of many restaurants, bars etc and had great experiences in each one. Staff and personnel were friendly and helpful. Overall, one of our best vacations ever!

Great staff but only average food and entertainment by RonPetersen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I found that the ship was nice but it lacked sufficient public restrooms in common areas and the food was average with lots of room for improvement. received paper menus at specialty resteraunts which was surprisingly classless for what is supposed to be upper scale dinning. staff was great and made up for the ships shortfalls. Big Kudos to the onboard personal trainer who was awesome. Thermal spa was also well with the extra money.

The best NCL ship I’ve... by bmcnairr

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

The best NCL ship I’ve been on! Love the variety of bars on board. Each one has a different feel so there’s something for everyone! Thermal Spa is a nice getaway for peace and quiet- but book before you sail because passes sell fast for the week. Only thing I dislike is the layout of The Garden Cafe. I wish the floor plan was a bit more open like RCCL Anthem of the Seas.

I love the norwegian escape... by jaidenkovaleski

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

I love the norwegian escape I've been sailing on the norwegian breakaway 6 times from New York but ever since the breakaway left its home port in New York and the escape took its place it's been a great experience because it's a change. They have same resturants and very similar locations because it's the same class of ship but if you like the breakaway class ships I deffently recommend the escape and the Washy Washy guy is very funny too😂

It was ok by Donnarosecady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was average. Not one of my favorites. The ports of call were good except for Antigua. The food was ok. The overall experience was not a good one. We drove home from New York to Dr. to find out that husband had a broken toe and me Acute bronchitis. Overall the whole trip was not fun because he hobbled and I couldn’t breath.

We just returned from week... by clferr

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We just returned from week cruise on Escape. The hot tubs weren't even warm. Refreshing would be more like it after spending time in the sun. Others noted that the ones by the main pool were a bit warmer, but always crowded with kids!

We were a bit apprehensive... by ElGrande

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We were a bit apprehensive about being on their largest ship, but had a terrific time. The food was better than expected, our accommodations were great (balcony for the wife and daughters, inside room for us poor male slobs), and the entertainment was first-rate. Service was excellent (Nisar, thank you for your patience on the Tag Heuer purchase!). Sea days were crowded (expected) but we always found a quiet spot on The Waterfront to relax. Our first NCL and definitely more to come!! Took a few days to "learn the ins-and-outs" of NCL, but they seem to be very efficient. I didn't mind making reservations, which seems to irk some folks not used to it (or, they just bring great-granny along to hold seats the entire cruise). I thought the use of the Atrium area was a bit odd as one of their main venues for activities, but it worked. Only two banks of elevators for the size of the ship, but we never waited long... even on sea days. Didn't partake in any fitness activities... I'm 6'4" and about 350 lbs... I saw folks in gym wear, saw folks sweat from apparent workouts, so I'm pretty sure a workout area existed somewhere. The ship itself is well-appointed and clean. One thing missing on NCL is the roaming mobs of teens and tweens who usually commandeer the ship. I thought this was "the norm" on cruises (maybe just Carnival?) but the clientele on NCL seem to have a better handle on their brats... My little brats (3 total, 13-yr old and 10-yr old twins) enjoyed the activities provided and I think my 13-yo would still be on the ropes course if allowed. Overall, we REALLY enjoyed our TurkeyDay adventure. It was booked last-minute, but I'm so glad we did it. Gobble gobble and washy washy!!

Cabin: 9272 I’ve read through a... by darcythompson

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Cabin: 9272 I’ve read through a lot of these reviews and I think it comes down to what you’re looking for out of a cruise. I personally love this ship and have sailed twice and it was exceptional each time! Room: balcony room/aft deck 9. Tremendous amount of storage I thought, while blow dryer wasn’t in bathroom it worked great (I ended up buying one for me at home!) I made sure to know the location of my room so noise was not a factor at all. Bars: for me, the District Brew House was the best bar on the ship and the staff, Ravi and Vince were outstanding! Seriously, I wanted for nothing and they knew my name and drink each time I walked in. I also enjoyed the open deck bar right outside of the Vibe, very lowkey and chill. Food: I only ate at buffet for lunch (which I thought was well done) Manhattan dining room twice and then rest were specialty restaurants. I was very pleased with the food overall. For me, Food Republic and Teppanyaki along with LeBistro were my favorites and thought they really stood out with their menus. Ship Overall: very clean and easy to get around. The smell of cigarette smoke was pretty well articulated in these reviews but I was able stay away from it and it really didn’t bother me. I guess I was more surprised than anything that I could smell it walking through the casino. For me, NCL and the Escape are a great fit and I love sailing on a ship that I know really well. Ive got 2 more itineraries to do on Escape and then I’ll have to try a new ship 😊
