Review summary

We were a bit apprehensive about being on their largest ship, but had a terrific time. The food was better than expected, our accommodations were great (balcony for the wife and daughters, inside room for us poor male slobs), and the entertainment was first-rate. Service was excellent (Nisar, thank you for your patience on the Tag Heuer purchase!). Sea days were crowded (expected) but we always found a quiet spot on The Waterfront to relax. Our first NCL and definitely more to come!! Took a few days to "learn the ins-and-outs" of NCL, but they seem to be very efficient. I didn't mind making reservations, which seems to irk some folks not used to it (or, they just bring great-granny along to hold seats the entire cruise). I thought the use of the Atrium area was a bit odd as one of their main venues for activities, but it worked. Only two banks of elevators for the size of the ship, but we never waited long... even on sea days. Didn't partake in any fitness activities... I'm 6'4" and about 350 lbs... I saw folks in gym wear, saw folks sweat from apparent workouts, so I'm pretty sure a workout area existed somewhere. The ship itself is well-appointed and clean. One thing missing on NCL is the roaming mobs of teens and tweens who usually commandeer the ship. I thought this was "the norm" on cruises (maybe just Carnival?) but the clientele on NCL seem to have a better handle on their brats... My little brats (3 total, 13-yr old and 10-yr old twins) enjoyed the activities provided and I think my 13-yo would still be on the ropes course if allowed. Overall, we REALLY enjoyed our TurkeyDay adventure. It was booked last-minute, but I'm so glad we did it. Gobble gobble and washy washy!!
