Q: Everyone has been so helpful in answering questions. I am with a group and there seems to be some confusion. I believe we have three nights that we have purchased for specialty restaurants. It was a package. The question is, there are many à la cart restaurants. Do those count as your specialty restaurant if you go there as one of the three, or do you still have to pay the à la cart in addition? we are getting to the point where we can book soon and I would love some clarification. Thank you so much.

A: Typically, you get credit of a certain amount for the a la cart restaurants. If you go over that amount, you pay difference.
Answered by tgonaboat on September 7, 2024
A: Any of the speciality restaurants can be used with the package. They may have a slightly different menu if you are using the package. They normally will include an appetizer, main, one or two sides and dessert as part of your meal. Some items may al... so have an up charge in addition to what you get included with the speciality dinner package.See More

Q: Does anyone have experience with the Vibe? Worth it? Are there an abundance of chaises or do you still need to jockey for a seat?

A: Very much worth it , especially if the ship sails at or near capacity. We have never had any problem getting a lounger. They only sell a limited number of passes therefore we have never found it to be overcrowded. I suggest purchasing the passes well... in advance because it usually sells outSee More

A: Where in Bahamas? Nassau or GSC?
Answered by YXF0LNmAKQmr1WZlqkUDpSdTH on August 8, 2024
Q: Just to clarify, I have never had to get a ticket for a tender off a ship. Is that some thing that we have to do for this? Often we book our own excursions not through the ship. Could that be an issue getting off the ship on time? Anyone booked their own excursion and experienced anything that would help to answer the question?

A: If you book excursions from an outside source, I would book it for afternoon as you will not get off early! You will need a tender ticket and they go quickly! It will be at least 10 ot 11:00 before you can just get off without a ticket! There are... alot if people on the Escape so it's not a quick process.See More

A: Excursions booked thru NCL will always have priority getting off the ship. Platinum or higher status can also show their keycard and won’t have to wait in line. I think everyone needs to get a ticket to get an assigned time.
Answered by sbjimmyg on August 7, 2024
A: if you have an NCL excursion there is no need to get a tender ticket. You will be told where to meet on the ship and depart as a group. If you have and excursion booked via a private company or plan on getting on once on shore then a tender ticket... would be required to get off sooner. After a certain time, then you just go down to the boarding area at any time. But remember they will get NCL excursions to shore in time.See More

A: none of your ports in your cruise require a tender boat to get to shore.
Answered by ASYoung on August 8, 2024
A: ASYoung is correct! None of the ports on your cruise are tender ports!

Answered by DACruiser57 on August 6, 2024
A: Spice H2O but also consider passes to the Vibe! Excellent adult only area onboard the Escape if you’re not in the Haven.

Answer Question
Q: When travelling to new ports, do people not research the ports beforehand? I always do to find out distance from town, local currency, how much travel is involved to see the main highlights, in order to plan my day. I see so many complaints about people not realizing distance to town etc… especially Europe and Alaska with NCL. Am I the only neurotic one to do this 🤔

A: Or you could just scroll on by the person's question if you don't have the time or patience to answer them. Maybe they are looking for some insight from people that have actually been to the port.
Answered by Mish74 on June 30, 2024
A: It also amazes me the questions people ask!! You are clearly online and have google- use it! People are just lazy, and then like to complain. I too, always do my research.
Answered by crusin4gramma on June 12, 2024
A: you are not, anyone who cruises should be doing some homework even before booking and then a whole lot more after booking
Answered by DACruiser57 on June 12, 2024
A: There are some great sites out there to research ports. What’s In Port has a lot of useful information like distance to town center etc. it does amaze me at some of the basic questions that are asked that could be answered with a little research.

Answer QuestionA: this is true for all cruise lines. only smoke in designated areas of the ship and never during bunkering (ship fueling).
Answered by DACruiser57 on April 29, 2024
A: No. Absolutely not. Only permitted in smoking areas. First, it’s a safety issue. Second, your neighbors don’t want to smell your smoke. If you’re caught, you will be reported to ship security.

Q: For the drink Package at Norwegian Escape, I know it says two drinks per transaction per person, but how often can someone do that? Is there a time limit? Every 30 min? Every hour?
Thumbs Up
0
A: I do not recall a time limit from my last NCL cruise, but if you do try to get 2 transactions say within 5 minutes, they may question you, unless you drink them in front of the bartender.
Answered by DACruiser57 on April 9, 2024
A: There is no time limit, but if you try to get more right away from the same bar, they probably won't let you because they know you are obviously trying to get someone else drinks for free!
Answered by crusin4gramma on April 9, 2024
A: people do smoke. there's a smoking section and it is so bad when you walk through. it's just horrible. I have to walk so fast on any ship
Answered by enjoyurdaysmile on February 26, 2024
A: Yup. I was in the casino for a while last night and my clothes reek of cigarette smoke.
Answered by mike198617 on March 3, 2024
A: Yes, the smoking section is not enclosed as in Norwegian Joy. There were few smokers at the casino than the deck above the pool.
Answered by Wanderer4life on February 27, 2024
A: I just got off the Escape yesterday. When you get onboard, go directly to the box office on deck 7 and book your reservation for Choir of Man and get you tender ticket if you don't have an excursion.
Answered by crusin4gramma on March 3, 2024
A: You have a choice of doing it on embarkation day. Last time, we didn't even do it but just went on without reservations. Belize, Grand Cayman, and GSC. They gonna allow no matter if you make reservations or not.
Answered by Wanderer4life on February 27, 2024
A: On our cruise you got a tender ticket the day of arrival at the port. Or if you are gold/platinum you could just go whenever you’re ready to get off the ship when they call available tenders
Answered by Soon2bfitmomto6 on February 27, 2024
A: I didn't think you could reserve it early, from my experience you reserve your ticket I believe the day before.

Q: Has anyone gotten travel insurance outside of NCL? If so, what company? Was it less expensive?

A: I buy Allianz every year. We travel alot and it is far better than others and covers both of us for every trip for the entire year.
Answered by crusin4gramma on February 7, 2024
A: Allianz! It’s a good bit cheaper with more coverage.
Answered by MandyAnn85 on February 8, 2024
A: The insurance offered by cruise lines is generally not very good. I recommend using aardy.com as they will give you quotes from several different companies and you can compare coverage to figure out what works best for you. The prices are reasonable... and you get much better coverage.See More
Answered by Jerrec on February 7, 2024
A: There are many websites. I use insuremytrip dot com and type in my travel parameters to get different options. Had to use it last year for a trip cancelled due to riots at my destination, and I got back all my money.
Answered by jpmato16 on February 8, 2024
A: and keep in mind even if you spend more on the outside ins it gives you a whole lot more benefits than the cruise line offers.
