Review summary

Two pools are very small. No solarium. We cannot comment on any shows, as we did not go to any because we were exhausted from going to the ports every day. Itinerary was excellent! Food was horrible in main dining and buffet. No lobster night or filet mignon. Get the speciality dining package! Moderno speciality restaurant was very good (only one we went to). Noodle bar was also very good. Drinks were very expensive, so if you drink, definitely get the drink package.

I cannot stress enough how horrible we thought the food was, especially in the main dining rooms. The selection was so weak every day. In all of our past cruises, we’ve always looked forward to going to dinner in the main dining room, however, this was a huge disappointment. Our first night, I loved the chicken I got; well that was the only night! This was my ninth cruise and my fiancé has been on a few more than me. This was our third NCL. We’ve always enjoyed Celebrity and Royal’s food more than NCL but our two previous cruises had never had such poor choices and horrible food as this cruise. We complained to the restaurant supervisor and she apologized and stated she would give our feedback to the cooks as well as her manager and offered us a bottle of wine. We received one speciality dining and that was it. Her manager was “busy” to talk to us.

Our balcony was huge! The bed was near the balcony which we always like. Our room was always clean. Our room steward was Victor. He was absolutely wonderful and always went above and beyond. He was very personable, always asking how our day was. The bed was not so comfortable and my fiancé has a bad back. We asked Victor for a mattress pad and that night we had a nice comfortable gel padding! The shower seemed bigger than past cabins.

Ship tip

I would definitely recommend to spend the extra money and get the speciality dining package and eat more meals at the ports

We were on the Epic this year and the food was fantastic, as well as the entertainment! Not sure what might have happened on your cruise. I would sail the Epic again, we loved it! We have always gotten the drink package for free on NCL. Not sure why you didn't on the cruise you booked, it's always part of their promotions!
