Review summary

All in all, I thought the cruise was fantastic with some minor issues. They really need to work on cooling the pools down though. That was an unfortunate part of the cruise that put a damper on the trip. Luckily it was so port intensive that we wouldn't have had a whole lot of time in the pool anyway.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
This was the worst embarkation I've ever had. We arrived at our check-in time to have us sit in the waiting area for over an hour to be checked in. All that time, they were having people from other wait times sitting in the wait area as well. You would think that once they opened the check-in that they would call people by their check-in times...nope...it was a chaotic free for all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All the food was excellent. We still have yet to visit a main dining room on an NCL ship because

Onboard Activities

Hot Tubs weren't hot but the pools sure were...uncomfortably so. The Spice H20 and Sports Complex area were closed.

Entertainment

DON'T MISS "BURN THE FLOOR"!! It's amazing! Walisson at Shakers and Diego Dimadu at Maltings were terrific.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The bartenders at Shakers are top-notch. If she's still there when you cruise, ask Mary for a Pistachio.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship was weird. There was a lot of odd spaces through out the ship that didn't seem to be planned out well.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size and the balcony were the best part of this cabin. It's weird to have the toilet one side of the entryway and the shower on the other side. The large couch area was nice while getting ready. The bed was essentially two twins pushed with nothing to keep them together, which usually resulted in a space between the two beds...not ideal for couples.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BARCELONA! Don't miss La Rambla or Casa Battlo. Wander around and see what the next corner reveals.

Ajaccio, Corsica

We went to the Calanche and Piana. It's not for the faint of heart. Narrow two way roads flanked by sheer drop offs in a tour bus. The little village of Piana is adorable...bring Euros! Ajaccio is a port you can explore straight off the ship.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Did not visit port

To be truthful, my husband and I stayed up partying with some folks from Northern Ireland and didn't get enough sleep.

NAPLES (POMPEII), ITALY

5 out of 5
We visit Pompeii and Sorrento- both are incredible. Sorrento is gorgeous and you can wander around.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

We went to Cinque Terre. We visited Riamaggioro and Manarola. It's some S.F. level hill climbing on those roads, so be prepared. Gorgeous though!

Cannes, France

5 out of 5
We went to Antibes. A nice village to wander around in. Cannes is a great port that you can explore straight off of the ship.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
I adored Palma!! You can't get off the ship and just explore. Find your way to the cathedral, you can't miss it, it's huge and then wander the town. That's what we did and got a little lost and loved every minute of it.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Went better than embarkation but still there was a lack of communication that would've made the process easier.
