Check the Itineray, ie Ports and duration spent at each port. If sailing to Alaska, look for a ship that has an indoor pool. Disappointed that there was no pool with retractable roof. If you go on without expectations you'd be ok. Spend time on observation deck. Book The Choir of Men Entertainment was excellent.

If you value your time to visit the ports of call, Norwegian Encore relies on shuttle bus to take you to towns. Be prepare to wait in lines.

Definitely take advantage of excursions and opportunities off the ship. It’s a massive ship, so if you don’t have a need for all the extraneous options, consider smaller alternatives.

Glacier Bay is now absent of any major glaciers. There were two smaller ones, but it was in no way as good as it was 12 years ago

The ports are too far away. It took an hour from each day to get to and from the port. Other ships board where everything is happening. I had to wait on a long line for a bus and then the trip still took 20 minutes. It really took away from the day.

Don't expect everything to go well all the time, and find a balance between the deficits.But, when it comes to food quality at the Specialty restaurants, don't settle for less, exchange it !

Spend a little extra and get the stateroom with a balcony. Especially if you're touring the glaciers. You'll have a much better view from your own balcony. You also have access to fresh air anytime you want it.
