Review summary

I don't think I would recommend Norwegian as a 1st option for cruising. Just a few things that did not appeal to me but may be right for someone else. We are a couple that choose this sailing because of a group of friends were going to be onboard but I don't think Norwegian is the best Cruise Line for Me. We did not book under the group. Also, on another note, the cruise price dropped and when I requested some money be refunded, an upgrade or onboard credit. We were offered a one-time future Cruise Credit when we returned home. This was an insult especially since the difference would almost pay for one person's sailing for an inside cabin.

Embarkation

Not welcoming once onboard ship as experienced on other cruise lines. Scrambling to get bearing. Met Cabin Steward on 3rd day of sailing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Cagney restaurant very good. Ocean Blue overrated. Buffet served the purpose but became tiring due to lack of variety. Deserts was just ok

Onboard Activities

Dancing / Auction / Atrium entertainment was enjoyable. One public pool. I did not find a Pool with a retractable roof. It was a sailing to ALASKA.......?

Entertainment

The Choir of Men was Fantastic. Overall the sailing LACKED theatre entertainment

Service and Staff

Service was ok. Met room steward by happenstance. He was trying his best to address bathroom odor.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean, observation deck was really nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Bathroom had constant urine smell even after Cabin Steward tried to treat the smell. Found items under the bed that should have been removed. Balcony glass needed to be washed. Room was normal for cruise ship.

Ship tip

Check the Itineray, ie Ports and duration spent at each port. If sailing to Alaska, look for a ship that has an indoor pool. Disappointed that there was no pool with retractable roof. If you go on without expectations you'd be ok. Spend time on observation deck. Book The Choir of Men Entertainment was excellent.

Cruise Glacier Bay

Ranger came onboard and that was a beautiful feature offered.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

Port seemed to be nice. HORRIBLE AMOUNT OF TIME IN PORT. Exiting cruise terminal and catching transportation to and from the city center CUT INTO TIME SPENT IN THE PORT. THAT WAS NOT GOOD. LOCATION OF SHIP'S TERMINAL OUT OF THE WAY.

Victoria, British Columbia

THIS WAS A JOKE - again exiting the terminal getting to the city area when everything was closed was Ridiculous. That was a Money Grab. $15 round trip allowed a few pictures, walk about 7 blocks stop in one of 5 overcrowded small souvenir stores and turnaround to head back to bus to ensure you get back.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
That was smooth. one nice feature Seattle allow direct transport of luggage from ship to airport.
