Review summary

I enjoyed the cruise. We chose the perfect time because every location we visited, the weather was beautiful, no rain. Even the townspeople would comment how luck we were with the weather on that particular day. The time of year was also perfect because so few tourist. Excursions a bit pricey.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Long wait lines to go thru security. Once on the ship, tho' all was good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffets were good, we never even made the specialty restaurants. Be sure to book the restaurant you want, Early, even before the cruise boards. The reservations tend to fill pretty fast. Having a drink package was wonderful, even though we really don't drink that much. Didn’t quite understand all the “little” charges that were on our bill.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Too cold for swimming. Enjoyed just walking thru the ship, many things to see. I personally enjoy going to the art auctions. Can't afford any art but love looking!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I picked this particular ship because of the Beatles Invasion show and the Choir of Man. Neither disappointed. I love music and sang along.

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room stewards were prompt, room was always made up when we turned the light on. The waiters and other personnel were kind, helpful and smiled.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It took a while for me to feel comfortable finding everything, but once I did, it was good. All was clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was actually smaller than I envisioned, but the bed was a real king bed and quite comfortable. Originally, I thought there was not much storage space, but I kept finding places for storage...under the bed for suitcases was perfect! Bathroom had plenty of shelves for storage.

Ship tip

Explore, enjoy, relax and have fun.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Does not seem well organized.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Port was fine. We went on the Mendenhall Glacier Explorer. Loved this. A lot of walking, if you wanted to.

Skagway, Alaska

White Pass Scenic Railway. Good excursion, a bit pricey.

Cruise Glacier Bay

Absolutely beautiful!

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

4 out of 5
We took an excursion thru another company. Not too impressed but cheaper than thru the cruise line.

Victoria, British Columbia

1 out of 5
We took the Victoria Highlights. We were very disappointed with this tour. We were dropped of near the Parliament Building and were given an hour to walk around. It was in the evening and very little information was given where to go, very little was open. We returned to the bus after around 30 minutes of walking and nothing much to see or do with so little guidance. You can only take so many photos of the lit up building. The driving around part was pretty uneventful and I feel it was a total waste of time and money. We pay for guided tours so we don't have to decide where to go and will be shown and informed of the sites. Very poorly done. Going to BC during the daytime would have been much better......

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was per usual. No surprises, which is a good thing!

@partyonthebigboat That's not silly question at all. In May, temperatures in Glacier Bay, Skagway, and Juneau can range from cool to mild. It's always a good idea to pack layers, including a waterproof layer you can remove as needed. Please visit https://cruiseline.com/ship/norwegian-bliss/qa to ask fellow cruisers. Thanks for sharing! We are set to sail 5/19. Silly question but do you think I need a heavy winter coat? I live in Western NY so cold doesn't bother me 🙃
