Review summary

Overall our cruises was good, the food was good except for that noted in this review. All the staff was very friendly, efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. Our major disappointment was the noise from the cafateria above us during the late hours. Our complaints fell on deaf ears.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining rooms and buffet were good. Two of the specialty restaurants were excellent, Cagne's Steak House and Tepenackki Japenesse. Bamboo and Le Bistro was also very good. The Italian Specialty was not very good. The food lacked good flavor and our group of 6 felt all the same.

Service and Staff

All the staff was very good, pleasant, and professional. Our room attendsant was very diligent, efficent, and a nice person to deal with. Several of our waiters were also supurb.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall the ship was clean and the layout was good. I travelled on the Dawn years ago and found it very "tired" looking but the refurbishing made a good difference in many ways.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything was very clean, appropriate size for what we expected, and our attendant was excellent, Edison. The only problem, and it was a major issue, was the noise above us from the buffet. We constantly hear chairs moving around on the floor. It was ok during normal hours as we wernt sleeping but the noise continued until mid night from other guest when the restauant closed. But to make matters worse, we had to listen to chairs being moved around until 1-2 am while the staff was cleaning. We, like others, spoke with the main desk on Floor 7 and expressed our concerns for sleepiong issues due to the noise. We were told that our concerns would be noted. Well they weren't addressed except for one night and then the noise coninued. We , again like others, spoke with the main desk personnel, and found no change throughout the cruise. I can't imagine that NCL jhasn't heard these complaints and dealt with them but obviously they haven't.

Ship tip

Get a room well below the cafeteria to protect from noise.

If you had checked the deck plans you could have avoided the noise issue. During the night is the only time they don't have guests in the way.

Always look what is around you when booking a room. Never pick a room just above or below a restaurant/club
