We quite enjoyed the cruise -- a little disappointed in some of the excursions but in the end we saw so many wonderful things it is hard to complain! We did several of the "Let's take a selfie" tours and was more disappointed in those (you get what you pay for!) but, again, we at least got to see a lot of things whereas if we would have done more in-depth tours we would have likely got a deep dive into something but only that one thing. All-in-all we have very few complaints.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fast and efficient embarkment process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was good but nothing spectacular. We mostly ate in the complimentary restaurants which all served the same foods.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
It didn't appear that that the water slides or rope course was open at all during our 10 day cruise. We were impressed with the number of lounge chairs on the upper decks.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Entertainment was not that plentiful unless you enjoy playing games or watching movies in the atrium. Aside from the two major shows in the grand theatre we mostly spent our time in Syd Norman's (their band was AWESOME) and Headliners (LOVED Howl at the Moon).
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was great. Always aimed to please, alway polite, always helpful. Jake from Syd Norman's was THE BEST!!!!!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We were very happy with the ship. It was easy to find your way around. The only thing that was NOT well thought out was to have the customer service area in the atrium -- the atrium is ALWAYS noisy and it was all but impossible to hear while trying to get assistance at the counter. Otherwise the ship was clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were extremely pleased with the size of our cabin. It was very comfortable and had lots of storage. Our cabin steward (Jay) was also awesome and kept the cabin clean and tidy.
Ship tip
There were a few seemingly little used areas that were great for quiet. Surprisingly enough no one ever seemed to hang out on deck 8 at the back of the ship which affords beautiful views. Also the H2O Lounge on deck 16 was a more quiet place with lounge chairs and a bar. The water feature here is awesome for those of use who want to cool down but not necessarily go swimming!! Very relaxing.
We LOVED Rome. We did the Highlights of Rome which was nice. There was a lot of walking and some things we would have liked to spent a little more time at but overall it was a nice overview of the high points.
We did the Volcano hike which was nice but a very aggressive hike. Because this was the excursion we chose we did not see any of the actual town, nor did we go up the hill or the cable car.
We did the "Just take a Selfie" tour and was a bit disappointed -- mostly because it stated there was a "stop at the Acropolis" when in actuality it was a stop on the sidewalk way below and it was like "up there is the Acropolis". We expected we were going TO the Acropolis which we did not. All items on the "we will visit list" were basically walk-bys and we did not gain entrance to any of the places. Basically if you had a map you could do this on your own though the convenience of a bus taking you from one place to the other was nice because there is no way I would ever want to drive in Rome!!!
This is a beautiful port! We did another "Let's take a Selfie" tour which wasn't too bad except our guide lost us towards the end. The streets are very crowded. But we did enjoy walking about and seeing the city.
Malta was so much more than we expected!! We did the Three Cities and Boat ride and it was fabulous. Our guide was so passionate about the history and very informative. Malta is beautiful.
We did the Pisa and Florence excursion. It was a lot of time on the bus as Florence is more than an hour from the port but it was a lovely excursion. Pisa was AMAZING and the time spent there was sufficient to do whatever you wanted. We also visited St. Peter's Square. It was a very good excursion.
Very organized as always! We had an early tour through Norwegian so were among the first groups to disembark. It was quick and painless. Luggage easy to find, tour bus easy to find.
