Review summary

This was a great cruise with many amazing experiences. The staff, crew, and excursions were great. They need to improve the drink staff in Lido when it comes to providing water especially in the morning.

Embarkation

There were long lines and we asked for a wheel chair to get through the lines and process. Waited over 30 mins and one never arrived. Daughters were able to get me through the line without having to stand for long periods of time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was excellent. However the drink servers did not offer and refill our water glasses in a timely manner. Many times, we had to get up and get the water pitcher ourselves. The one person (SANDI in the Lido restaurant) was particularly bad. Was never around his station, never came by the tables, and was useless.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship offered various fitness center and computer classes that we utilized. The computer instructor seemed a bit stuck on herself but we learned a lot during her classes.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The cruise had great shows (expect Marty Simpson - don't need to bring him back) and a good variety of them. We enjoyed the musical talent on board and the accessibility during the cruise. The show on the Panama Canal were extremely interesting and timely as we sailed the canal. The Filipino Crew show was phenomenal. That they did this all on their own time was exceptional and kudos to them.

only recommendation would be to have waste can around the elevators.

Cabin / Stateroom

was well located and our housecleaning staff made the most incredible towel animals for us. He kept the room clean and supplied.

Ship tip

The excursion was well planned and we saw a lot.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We walked around the town, boardwalk and the old town.

Huatulco, Mexico

Nothing to do, rained while we were there, and ship got stuck in sand. Had to be put up in hotel until we could re-board the ship. Then had to wait in line for about a ship for a tether. Basically this was a bust.

Puerto Chiapas (Tapachula), Mexico

2 out of 5
nothing to do, vendors were way to pushy

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

4 out of 5
Toured Antigua, went to the Jade factory and learned about the country. Very interesting. The welcoming committee on the dock did a great job welcoming us and providing handouts.

Puerto Corinto, Nicaragua

Enjoyed visiting Leon, touring the cathedral, and walking around the town center. Also walked about the city close to the ship - this was very nice. The welcoming committee on the dock did a great job welcoming us and providing handouts.

Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica

This was total madness. The Norwegian Pearl docked the same time we did and we had to wait for them to tie up before we could disembark. This made things a nightmare for getting off the ship and getting to our excursions. The country is very beautiful and the people extremely friendly so I don't want the docking issue to reflect badly on them.

Enter Panama Canal At Balboa

the speaker they had discussing the canal was extremely boring and needs lessons on speaking.

Even with 5 cruise ships in port, they did a great job handling all the people, providing great excursions.

They did a good job getting us off the ship. They were very organized and had wheel chairs available which helped tremendously.
