Beautiful ship with warm and caring staff! by MiamiCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our second time on the MSC Seaside. The ship is spectacular, our cabin was very nice, the food was really good, but most of all, we appreciated the personal attention from the Captain, the Senior Officers, and all of the staff. We felt very much at home.

Underwhelming Caribbean Cruise by williammcintosh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Very poor food quality and pretty much the same choice every day. Itinerary not the best and too condensed into the middle three days. Don’t expect a sun lounger unless you are happy to put towels down at 6am every day- not controlled by staff, towels down all day and beds not used - no staff intervention.

Amazing and affordable for a large family! by grantcamallen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

On the whole, a cruise on the MSC Seaside is amazing and affordable. The quality of everything MSC does just seems to be a notch hire than other cruise lines, even at a lower price point. The culture on board is very family friendly. I never felt like other’s were annoyed that my kids were their having a good time, they even had extra diapers for free in the bathrooms. The whole experience left me feeling cultured and valued. I loved that they embraced diversity and do everything they can to make sure that all guests, not just Americans, have a great experience. At MSC they never really say goodbye, instead they say, “arrivederci.” Which is Italian for “until we meet again.” And that really captures my sentiments about MSC and the Seaside. I cannot wait to sail with MSC cruises again, on the Seaside, or onboard their many other ships.

Cruise was great, food and staff need much improvement!!! by charmel93

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

All in all we left after a week very disappointed!! The staff and the food tome make the cruise, and they plainly did not do it this time!! The food was average at best, and the staff needs some major help with there people skills!! We have been on many cruises, and MSC before, we did not expect to be pampered, but we did not want to be treated like dirt also!!! Like I said in the past, for every one nice staff member we had, we would get three rude ones. That just does not get it for me!! Every cruise I have been on in the past, has been at least 15, my room steward remembered my name. NOT THIS ONE!! The drink package was good, no complaints on that. I would say MSC is going to have to work very hard to get me come back!!!!

Truly disappointing cruise! by Cruiser71117299

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I did not like this ship or the food. Disappointing for sure - feel like it was money wasted!!! Pools were small and not enough deck area for sunbathing! Poor Pool design. Bridge of Sighs was unique - enjoyed that! Also liked the ship map on My MSC app.

Not Disappointed by LesnPeter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have been on over 30 cruises world wide. Being residents of Florida, many of our cruises have been in the Caribbean and we have been in some ports multiple times. We choose to stay onboard the ship while in port and enjoy the ship. In the Yacht Club all services are fully operational even with the number of guests greatly reduced. Just one comment on formal nights, It is optional. However, tattered jeans, shorts, and tank tops will not get you entrance to the dining room.

Truly European Environment; more formal; high quality by ShelbyCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

MSC will definitely be a cruise line we will consider when we look for future cruise adventures. It's indeed a European environment and takes us back to our experiences where we were stationed in Europe. The fact that they did the status match was a BIG PLUS! But beware that you may be in the minority as an English Speaker on some activities. Food quality exceeded the other cruise lines. A more formal environment, but enjoyable.

Excellent cruise with friendly staff! by ramosfamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

MSC was an amazing cruise experience! The staff is friendly and the entertainment options were great. The MSC Seaside was an absolutely beautiful ship. The policy that allows children under 12 for free makes this our preferred cruise line and we will definitely take another cruise with MSC.

I would not cruise with MSC again. They need to take lessons from royal carribean and carnival.

Worst Cruise Ever!!!!! by TravelAgentJoe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I took 7 cruises in 2018 and booked the MSC Seaside for their Christmas cruise thinking it would be a great experience. Boy was I wrong. The crew was less than friendly. We left the port of Miami and two days later we got to San Juan. I was ready to pack my bags get off in San Juan and fly back home. The ship was dirty, the public areas where nice, but the public restrooms where disgusting. The food was horrible, just bland and taste less. The staff/crew didn't greet or welcomed us on board. It was not until dinner that the host, and only the host greeted us. She was the only person that helped us and provided suggestions to deal with our situation. we weren't able to sleep the first three nights on the ship because the people in the room next to us kept screaming at each other. I had to call Guest Services 6 times before anything was done and they sent someone to speak to them. The crew had a part at the pool deck and turn the music so loud that we couldn't sleep nor relax in our rooms. If you are looking to relax while at see, this is not the cruise for you. The show where amazing! but other than that, it was my worst cruise this year and my worst cruse ever. I will never travel with MSC ever again.

Western Caribbean Cruise by babc22803

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was really beautiful however the shows and entertainment (things to do) lacked. It would have been nice to see more going on. The food was decent & the service was impeccable!

Beautiful ship and great amenities but customer service needs some work by LanieB1968

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I sailed with MSC in the Med and received stellar services in all areas. I preached to others about how good the service and food were and tried to talk American friends into giving MSC a try. Based upon the spotty food and service on this cruise, I may need to reconsider my choices.

Another MSC Beauty by puravida1955

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall, this was a great cruise. The older I get, the less I like the mega ships. They lack the intimacy of smaller ships. I noticed this on Oasis class ships too. But, this ship is fabulous! It is a true beauty, elegance at every turn. Those Swarovski staircases are stunning! This was without a doubt the most beautiful ship I have ever cruised on. I feel MSC is still working on perfecting some minor issues but for the price it is quite a good deal. I will be sailing on MSC ships for many years to come.

Pleasant Caribbean Cruise. by rvh01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

A pleasant trip on a new cruise ship. Excellent food with New York style entertainment inside the ship. European style atmosphere. No crazy music or people going on. Book cruise ship excursions - Go on the sure side even if a bit more expensive. There is a good reason why. Will take cruise again.

Horrible by teegee2002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Never again. I have sailed on Royal, Celebrity, Holland, and Carnival. Food in cafeteria better than dining. Specialty ate amazing but very pricey. Staff need to learn customer service skills. Plan on spending a lot of money for everything! Best experience was Celebrity and worse was MSC.

An amazing week! Celebrating a wedding and a birthday during our trip, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel cherished and special. Loved the ship, the food, and the peace of mind that came with being on vacation with MSC!

A Cruise of a Thousand Papercuts by redbeardhoosier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Seaside / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

While any day on a cruise is better than a day not on a cruise, in the end, this cruise is not one that we would likely repeat. Did we have a bad cruise? Definitely not! We (at least, I) had an enjoyable cruise. As with most things, you get what you pay for. This cruise was cheaper than most, and in the end delivered accordingly. This cruise provided an absolutely gorgeous ship, a wonderful connection to the sea, good food, and relaxation - all at a budget price. However, due to a metaphorical thousand paper cuts - the poor stateroom service, lack of usable stateroom storage, odd theater shows, unappealing children's programming, inefficient port-call timing, overly complex drink package, and similar frustrations - our future cruise money will likely be better-spent elsewhere. Background My wife and I are in my early 40s, we have two tween-age girls (currently ages 12 and 10). This cruise was our fourth overall, and first with MSC. We are reasonably experienced cruisers, having taken (at the time of writing this review) five cruises on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney, and MSC (and with five more booked on Norwegian and Disney). We travel as a family, and look for a mix of relaxation, family time (these two being my personal #1 priority), good food, entertainment, and fun in a cruise vacation. While I try to incorporate educational experiences, we do not usually seek out action/adventure experiences. For this cruise, we traveled with my parents, as a celebration of their 45th wedding anniversary. We booked staterooms 15173 and 15163, which were (non-adjoining) category B2 Fantastica balcony staterooms, with the Fantastica experience and kids sail free, mealtime restaurant drink package, and 2GB free internet promotions.
