Review summary

Overall, this was a great cruise. The older I get, the less I like the mega ships. They lack the intimacy of smaller ships. I noticed this on Oasis class ships too. But, this ship is fabulous! It is a true beauty, elegance at every turn. Those Swarovski staircases are stunning! This was without a doubt the most beautiful ship I have ever cruised on. I feel MSC is still working on perfecting some minor issues but for the price it is quite a good deal. I will be sailing on MSC ships for many years to come.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined in the Seashore restauraunt and Marketplace buffet most of the time. I would rate both areas as very good. One night we dined in the Butcher's Cut restaurant and the food and service there was outstanding!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My daughter used the fitness center a few times. I am currently disabled and am unable to partake in exercise activities but the Aurea Spa area was amazing! I loved the Salt room and the Snow Room.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I thought the entertainment was quite goo. However, I liked the Divina's entertainment better. My fellow travelers seemed to enjoy all the shows.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff overall was very friendly and helpful. I think they need some additional training on assisting folks with disabilities, especially in the buffet area. I did offer some suggestions to the management and since I am a Cruise Critic member and Cruise Consultant, the Hotel Manager met personally with me to discuss my ideas for improving overall service to disabled passengers on this ship, which indicates to me that they are trying very hard to make improvements on their line to have great success here in the American market as well as in Europe and South America.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
There were some areas where it was difficult to go from one end of the ship to another but that is very common on large liners. I felt like I got off the ship needing an additional week to explore.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The only negative I have to comment has to do with a Handicapped Accessibility issue. There needs to be a device on the interior and exterior of the cabin to automatically open the entry door for someone in a wheelchair or scooter.

Ship tip

Order the Filet Mignon in the Butcher's Cut restaurant! Have fun!
