Review summary

MSC was an amazing cruise experience! The staff is friendly and the entertainment options were great. The MSC Seaside was an absolutely beautiful ship. The policy that allows children under 12 for free makes this our preferred cruise line and we will definitely take another cruise with MSC.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation was very organized! We were unable to print the luggage tags before arrival, but the staff helped us get everything in order.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
As a vegan family, we were uncertain about the selection before embarking. The food was excellent, however, and there were always options for us. The staff were quick to answer questions and provide us with options and alternatives.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Activities on the ship were excellent. We didn't get to spend time in the pools since we had our infant (we couldn't leave her in baby care since she is less than 1 year old), but we did get to go to the kid's splash park with her. The slides were popular and the pool deck was always a great option.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the shows! They were approximately 40 minutes, which was perfect to maintain everyone's attention regardless of age. The performers were talented. I enjoyed the opera, which is rare to experience on a cruise ship.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
The baby room was nice to have for our infant, although there was not a large variety of toys for her to play with. We were not able to leave her in baby care since she was less than 1 year of age, but it would be a nice option to have for older infants and toddlers.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were amazing! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. They worked such long hours but always had a smile for us. Our room steward made up our room multiple times each day, and it was so relaxing to return to a clean room after eating or enjoying activities.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was beautiful!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony stateroom was much larger than anticipated, and it was comfortable to relax in when we were tired. It became a bit tight with the crib placed in the room, but we were simply excited that a crib was an available option for us.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Walking around was very simple, safe, and there was a lot to see.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
It wasn't as easy to walk around near this port. I would have preferred a half day at this port and a full day elsewhere.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
It was easy to catch a tour out of the port, although more difficult to walk from the port.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
This was a great port for spending time at the beach or Atlantis! We did a tour, but not through the excursion desk. Atlantis was the highlight, and having a full day here would be preferred.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were surprised at how simple the disembarkation was, and how well-organized the luggage claim area was.
