Like any other business in the world, cruise companies will try everything to make money, and there is nothing wrong in it. The good part is – they tell you they are trying to make money, nothing is HIDDEN. The onus of being careful with your money is entirely on you! So, here are some things to note: • Onshore excursions – Yes, they charge a bomb for all their onshore excursions, and that’s exactly why we didn’t take even one of them! Do your research and plan your trips on your own. We did that, and we came back a happy lot – without a hole in our pockets. • Drinks package – For people who drink a lot, this might seem like a good option – paying a set amount for drinks every day, for the entire duration of your stay so you can have unlimited drinks while on the ship. But everyone in my family are teetotalers. The drinks package didn’t make sense to us – so we didn’t opt for it. • Professional photos – You will find photographers taking your photos everywhere; apart from the photo that was taken on embarkation day, a bill for which reached our room (with an option to return the pics and choose not to pay for it), no one were we forced to pay for something we didn’t ask for. • Service charge – I had read so much about how unfair it is for MSC to add a 70 Euro service charge on every bill. But after my 7-day trip, I willingly and happily paid those 70 Euros. For a 7-day trip, it comes out to 10 Euro/person/day. And for how well they took care of me – I was more than happy to pay!

Be careful with room location. Noise is transferred easily. Hand washing is not stressed, so be vigilant about your own hand hygiene.

Don’t miss Cirque du Soleil Show. Spectacular. Buffet is crowded. At the back of the restaurant it’s more easy to find a seat.

Book the Cirque du Soliel shows before you get onboard tbe ship! Be prepared for annoucements in 5 languages as MSC cater for its European clients. Relax and enjoy the experience - even if its different to your previous cruises. 😉

I don't think I will be sailing with MSC again. This was probably my 1st and only MSC cruise. I wasn't impressed. The ship was nice and clean but it lacked atmosphere and there was a major lack of customer service, staff were like robots. No apologies for anything when raised issues with staff and just a severe lack of interest. Only a small handful of friendly staff, mainly bar or marketplace staff. Charged us wrong for an excursion which we then cancelled and they also added excursions to my sister's account which she hadnt even booked with no explanation or apology. The food was so basic, there was not much choice and often not hot. My sister had a snail in her salad. Things weren't labelled properly some of the time either. They cancelled our visit to ocean cay with no real explanation and thought $50 per person was a reasonable reimbursement. I don't think so! Will be sticking to RCL and celebrity in future.

Don't go with MSC until they work out their issues..you get what you pay for. I am not a first time cruiser..been on over 50 cruises...this was the cruise from hell. Sanitizing was not pushed at all...even though we did, we are now 5days later recuperating from the flu which we picked up on the ship.

MSC Yacht Club is the ship in a big ship, so we booked this way to have a better experience than in the 2000 cabins on the normally decks. This was good, but we found that it is not excellent and we prefere in the future the smaller ships and the balcony suite.

Our cabin was comfortable, The cabin was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nice with a walk-in shower and a rain shower head. The cabin was clean and I really enjoyed the Nespresso machine

This ship seems designed for week about cruises in the sunshine. Your comfort and space is reliant on Top deck being full of sun seekers if its not then you are struggling. Beautiful decor throughout emphasis is on number of cabins and numbers of seats are compromised to achieve that. What seats there are, are mainly heavy modern and uncomfortable, it really is Bling over practicality.!!! Evening events are inaccessible in the body of the ship for most but they do have a booking system for the theatre.
