Horrible from start to finish! MSC still trying to figure things out. Cheaper than most but you get what you pay for. The ship is new and pretty and they have some good entertainment but everything else really bad. Too top it off...they don't care! A vacation is supposed to be a great memory, this was totally opposite. DON'T cruise MSC!

Took over 3 hours to embark. Total chaos. No communication. Worst embark ever. Black Member, no priority line or call.

Food and Dining

Buffet same food every day at lunch. Mushy and not edible. Horrible presentation.
MDR was better but still poor quality. Menu not varied. Dining Room ambiance too bright and loud. Tables very close.
Bought specialty dining package but read the fine print. You can only order certain items and if you want more, you have to pay.
Onboard Activities

Activities just ok. Not a variety of things to do. Trivia in 5 different languages...arts and crafts ?? And dance classes. Other than that..not much else offered.
Entertainment

Shows were very good. Except Circ de Soleil is very boring and not worth extra money. Pre-show music terrible.
Service and Staff

Room steward not friendly or efficient. Cabin was not ready when we entered first day..horrible first impression. Filthy, hairs all over. Mirrors not cleaned. It was as if she just changed sheets and put up towels.
Staff in MDR for dinner very efficient and nice. Seemed to apologize for poir food quality. Lunch crew rude and dismissing.
Buffet crew non existent for the most part. Could never get a black english tea bag, ever!
Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 13352..back aft balcony...small cabin..small balcony, not bigger as pictures depict. No storage at all. Bathroom very small and hard to get around. Cabin steward never introduced herself, never came by. Many times cabin not ckeaned. Was filthy when we first arrived. Horrible first impression. Never got ice, even though we requested. Overall, worst experience ever on acruise.
Ship tip
Don't go with MSC until they work out their issues..you get what you pay for. I am not a first time cruiser..been on over 50 cruises...this was the cruise from hell. Sanitizing was not pushed at all...even though we did, we are now 5days later recuperating from the flu which we picked up on the ship.
Was told we could disembark by 6:45 am walkoff...ended up being 7:45..but it did move quickly. Best thing about this entire cruise was getting off the ship.
I am on the Meraviglia right now and have a totally different experience. Embarkation took less than 20 minutes. (Embarkatoon Time shown at the Ticket was 1:00 am and we got at the port at about 1:15 am) Staff is very nice. We were offered an extension cord and distilled water without asking but cabin steward noticed our apnea respirator. Receptionist very kind and helpful to me ( lost my passport on day 1 and the did everything to help me out, got it back by day 2) food is very nice so far. Cirque du Soleil Sonor Show was spectacular. Theater shows were also very nice and entertaining so far. MDR is a bit loud sometimes.

This was our 3rd with MSC..cruised Divina and Seaside. We kept giving them the benefit of just breaking into US market.
They are not improving, but getting worse.
Hopefully the Caribbean itinerary is better in January. I did an msc cruise on the seaside in February and we loved it! Hopefully this one will be just as good. I don't expect large rooms or balconys... it is a cruise ship after all. And food.... I've never had fantastic food on a cruise but always had decent food and certainly never starved.....they are cooking for thousands of people after all
