The MSC Meraviglia is a huge beautiful ship. The cruise line deals with the population volume well. Entertainment was excellent. Staff throughout the ship was exceptional. Food was fair. Excursions were well planned and enjoyable. Fitness center was limited. Many activities available.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation took some time. Baggage drop area in NYC was very hectic and disorganized. Inside check in was much better.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room had great staff, but the food was just fair. We tried a variety and only one option did we consider good. We did not use specialty dining. Buffet was very repetitive and fair as well. Staff there was also exceptional.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Because of cold windy weather we did not use the pools. However, they looked clean and nice. The top floor water slide looked like it would be a lot of fun. Fitness center had limited equipment and several machines were out of order. We did use it for an”better than nothing “ workout. Dance classes, stretching, aerobics, etc were fun.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The complimentary evening shows were excellent. We enjoyed every one. Singing, dancing, magic, ventriloquist, opera, all enjoyable. Singers/musicians in other ship areas also very good.
Children's Programs

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward and wait staff were all excellent.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
All areas clean and well maintained. Locations and walking were mostly good considering it’s such a large ship. We easily maneuvered dining, shows, off ship trips with ease.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice room, comfortable bed, adequate size. Very clean. Nice balcony.
Closet space and drawers were inadequate. We used our luggage under bed for storage.
Walls are thin so when neighbors are talking, using tv and music it seems loud in the room.
Ship tip
Be careful with room location. Noise is transferred easily. Hand washing is not stressed, so be vigilant about your own hand hygiene.
We did not do a shore excursion but you can walk the small town easily on your own. We had already visited Acadia, but if you haven been there, it’s a must see.
The Bras d’Or Lake and Gaelic village settlement were very interesting and beautiful. However, it was very cold and windy so we didn’t spend much time touring. Dress warm in cooler weather!
We paid for bus transport to Quincy Market. While there we walked around and visit he many shops and restaurants. A very fun way to spend the afternoon if you don’t want a structured tour.
I'm anxious to read some reviews once it starts sailing in the caribbean. My sister and I are booked for january 5 and are so excited...its my 2nd MSC cruise! Is the cirque show included or is it an extra like some of the restaurants are?
