Review summary

This was a mixed bag of surprises. The ship itself was the worst I have ever been on considering the layout and overcrowding. The shows were fantastic and the upgrade to balcony was a life-saver. Activities director needs to be fired or needs more experience(not sure which). The silence was hard to get used to, play some local music!! Ports were all amazing with plenty of time to enjoy and easy off-on experience. All in all, MSC business model should be adapted if they want to succeed in the american market. I personally will not return.

Embarkation

Lines moved fast until computers went down. Multiple times

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Drinks are reasonably priced but water is scarce. Buffet is exactly what you would expect but I've never had the main dining room serve such mediocre fare. The shining star is the fresh mozzarella made daily! Fabulous

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pools are over-chlorinated hot tubs were cold half the time and the daily events were short and forced, guided stretching seemed to be the most frequent activity on board. The worst though was the silence, I've never been on such a quiet ship before music was sparse and when there was any it was mostly Hispanic, there was no island music at all the whole trip. we were in the Caribbeans!!!!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Theater shows were terrific especially the "cirque du soleil" shows. Totally made the trip!

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff and service excellent as always. Helpful and friendly

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
All parts of the ship were clean. Design and layout is terrible. Worst I've ever been on. 6,000 passenger ship is bordering on overpopulated, but once take into consideration about half the ship is closed off for yacht club and aura members only you end up with absolute chaos. Sardine-like elevators, standing up to eat, shoulder to shoulder pools, Sunning chairs on the jogging track, and fighting over ashtrays. This is insanity, and clearly must change if they intend to keep customers returning. I for one will never sail msc again.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Spacious room and the balcony was fantastic. It was a free upgrade

Ship tip

Find a different ship unless it's dirt cheap and you're desperate.

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas Did not visit port

Last minute change of plans and they sent us to Jamaica instead. Too bad ours was supposed to be the inaugural trip.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It was decently organized but the passenger load was more than customs could handle smoothly. lots of stop/go lines even on the ship

I had the same experience with this ship earlier this year. I will not cruise with MSC again.

Sorry for you disappointment and hope you give cruising another chance. Try another ship or another cruise line.
