First time on MSC by irondalepics

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

We enjoyed our first time with MSC. We have only cruised Carnival until this trip. It was beautiful and worth the fare. We missed the smiles of the Carnival staff. We loved being able to book an accessible cabin 2 weeks before embarking!

Really nice cruise 🛳 by Flakes56

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

All in all a very nice cruise! The ship was bigger than I thought it was. Beautifully done, clean, and plenty to keep you busy. I would do MSC again!

The entire trip was a great experience. by nadyabryan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

It was our first cruise. I was undecided about cruising because I'm a doer, so thought I'd be bored. Now I'm a cruiser. It was relaxing, entertaining, and had plenty of activities to keep us busy.

Great time. Full ship. by disgurljess

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Extremely understaffed, if it’s a full ship, expect some wait time at the bar. Fellow cruisers understand this, and we look out for one another. If you’re at the bar and someone has been standing there before you, just let the staff know if they try to serve you first. Kindness goes a long way. The entertainment staff was so much fun, but the paid shows was very underwhelming. I left after 15 minutes. Maybe it just wasn’t my cup of tea, but felt very much like a high school production. Don’t skip the adults only pool on deck 16 which has a lot less traffic and a bar as well. Please do yourself a favor a try the pizza.

Definitely bit different then the big two. by Cruiserlife

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Msc mergavilla is lacking food options, ships just as new with other lines have i.e. guys and promenade as examples. Burgers are not good pizza is not good and pepperoni is one spot only at afternoon and evenings. Muster drill was not good experience either. No washcloths in cabin have to ask for them. Ships dining rooms must be small since 3 dining times. We got stuck with 930pm not cool. Got it moved to 830 which was still late but better then 930. Food wasn't great anywhere on ship that was free. Sailing was great but we think MSC isn't for us.

Ok cruise, but Divina is a better ship and experience by SeaNotes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

When I booked this cruise, I was not considering the spring break crowd. There were lots of families, children and college kids on the ship. It was very very crowded and I won’t book during this time of year again. I think this was also my last “short” cruise. It seems longer cruises that are generally more expensive attract a more well-behaved clientele. There can be bad apples in every bunch, but the vibe on this one had me much more cautious of my surroundings than usual. There is no comparison to 7 nights on Allure of the Seas and 3 nights on MSC Meraviglia.....completely different experience. This ship was fine, but I liked Divina much more. They had lot of activities and it was nice being ported at Ocean Cay overnight. It would be great if they took a cue from Royal's playbook with their approach to their safety drill. After watching the video on the cabin TV and calling the number on the in-cabin phone to confirm, everyone was STILL required to visit a muster station to “check in”. This is fine, but they shut down all the elevators during this process and everyone on 14 had to take the stairs down to 7 then go back up. I watched an elderly couple really struggle to get down the stairs. By all means, have people report to their muster station, but shutting down the elevators makes it a challenge. They did the same drill the next day for those who did not attend the first day and they all had full use of the elevators. It was an ok cruise, but nothing really stood out. I'll cruise with MSC again, but definitely on a different ship for a longer duration.

First with MSC by Mish2cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Now you may think I didn't enjoy myself due to some criticism I wrote, but I did. I cruise now to relax. I don't need to bungee jump or parasail anymore! I just grab a book, have a drink, and relax. This cruise was like that for me. With the exception of food on-board (😛), our first MSC was a good one.

Worst cruise ever!! by tinosmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

I had read about previous experiences and was well I’m not picky it will be ok. I have been on 6 Carnival cruises and 2 RCCL. I had the most miserable time. Embarkation was controlled chaos. Getting to the buffet the 1st day…impressive. After ever lunch/dinner being the same every day not impressive after day 2. I ate in the dining room were only 2 eatable meals. I have Celiac disease and had to constantly remind them only to be told you have to preorder every day. Even after I ordered my preorder they were out of didn’t have. Was going to make reservations at Hola specialty but the ran out of Tortilla chips.how does that happen? A lot of bars ran out of things, mixers, can sodas. There was also no food after 9:00. Tried to call room service which I had free with my room only to be told sorry kitchen closes in 10 minutes. Not acceptable. The welcome aboard show non energetic boring show. The comedy Houdini show with the cruise director was very funny however very warm in the Broadway theater. No activities unless you liked drinking and partying until wee hours in the morning. The older crowd enjoyed playing games and cards. I never felt like such a waste of money….I could go on and on. If your thinking it can’t be that bad it is and worse. It is an absolutely beautiful ship. They truly need to take some lessons from other cruise lines that got it right!

Good but? Caribbean Cruise by daak15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

My wife and I have been on 5 cruises with the first one being in 1999. A lot has changed in the industry since then and most of the changes were not for the better. I realize everybody is looking for cheaper prices, but I learned a long time ago you get what you pay for. Cruise lines have cut out a lot of the little things that made it special. But worst of all the cheaper prices allow lower class citizens on board. I don't want to sound better than anyone else cause I'm not, but when fights break out in food lines and drunkards are banging on your door at 1:00 AM I would say the standard has dropped to a new low. This was our first MSC cruise and probably our last.

5 Stars amazing by uskatrin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

The food quality is the best I ever had. We ate 3 to 4 meals a day , every day. We love food, not fast food or over cooked, or fried food. I have problems with dairy in the US. It makes me congested. I had Yogurt and cheese every day multiple times a day and I was fine. This food also does not make you constipated !!! 1st Cruise I did not needed laxatives. Every dessert was amazing . All of the food is not over salted or sugared. You can always add more ! We will only be cruising with MSC from now on

Birthday 2023 Cruise by Chandy25

Me and my son had a great time on this cruise. It was not perfect but if you don't sweat the small stuff (bar service and crowded buffet) you will have a great time 🙂

First and Last by kristinapalmer2

Honestly, probably would never cruise on this ship again. I had to do more work than necessary for what I paid for. I’ve been on better more attentive, cruise lines.

Overall - Not Good by gababster

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Meraviglia

I was on the Devina about 6 years ago and liked it ok. Again a beautiful ship but not much nightlife. That part hasn’t changed but now you can’t even get drinks. I think they’re not equipped for that many people. Either sell less rooms, don’t offer drink packages or build more bars and restaurants

A nice cruise with good food. by MajorUSA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A beautiful ship, good food and nice itinerary. MSC will bury the other cruise lines if they would offer their Diamond members additional perks.
