We had already read bad reviews about MSC Service, food but I was not expecting to have an issue at every port with our excursions and getting off the ship.

Service was slow, food was inconsistent, buffet food only thing I can say is the fruit was good and the lettuce was fresh but you might have to go to 2 or 3 locations to get something to put on it to make a salad

pools 2 biggest were for kids and I dont like getting in Pee pools. The adult pool was very small and over crowded.

Waiter was overworked. He had to many tables. It was difficult to get the attention of someone to get water refilled.

Balcony cabins were small. They had minimal. no cleanex tissue. you only get 1 towel per day. Sometimes you get a bath mat.
Ship tip
Dont expect good service, Staff is unfriendly afraid to engage think they must be yelled at alot, I had read the previously reviews so I had expected it. They are not well trained alot of new people. you would get different answers from different people.
We snorkeled and enjoyed it. But very stressful. MSC excursions were all booked so we had to book through our travel agent. MSC gave preference to letting all their excursion people off ship first so our excursion was cut short because it took so long.
Laid on beach here. We tryed to book paddle boards but they were all sold out online. Food was marginal. Hamburgers and fries is about the only thing they had.
We went tubing through Cave and again very stressful as we were late getting to the escursion because MSC gave dingy boat tickets to msc excursions first. We got up at 6am to get a ticket we were in line by 6:10am and we were on the 12th group of 50 people. I would not recommend booking any excursions through travel agent if you are going on MSC because ours were all cut short.
We enjoyed this small port too we took a tour of chaccoben ruins but again same issue. we were late getting off so we did not get to spend much time at the ruins because of issue they let all the msc excursions off first.
Ummmm. Hate to break it to you, but adult pools on cruise ships are most assuredly "pee" pools too. Lol Where do u think that drink package winds up. Adults never getting out of pools for hours is your first tip off 😄
Appreciate your detailed feedback. Sorry you were disappointed. All cruise lines give priority debarkation on water taxis to passengers that book shore tours through the ship. That is part of the guarantee provided. Sorry this cruise didn’t come close to meeting your expectations.
I understand your complaints about the food and service but at the ports where you docked, like Costa Maya, there is no delay in getting off the ship and having to wait until excursion people get off first.
