Review summary

Overall it was just ok, staff no where as good as other Princess ships we have been on. Could not use the Karaoke room as was told they where for Asians, when at Guest services, I was talking to a staff member when a Chinese lady pushed in, and I was then ignored, while the staff member talked to her. This was typical of how we where treated the whole cruise, don’t go on a relocation cruise to Asia.

Hey Chrissty, I'm sorry your cruise was not all you had hoped for. I can certainly understand you slight disappointment. My wife and I haven't sailed on the Majestic Princess yet but would like to. From what I have read about the ship it was designed more for the Asian culture. Before we visited China a number of years ago we tried to learn a little about the Chinese culture. Regarding the circumstance you described that happened at Guest Services that seems to be the way the Chinese are. I'm not making any excuses for her pushing ahead of you and you should not have been treated that way by the staff at Guest Services but again that's their way. I'm guessing that the staff person was probably Asian or if not just used to that. I remember reading an article before the Olympics were held in China about that. It was a concern for the Chinese government. They wanted to make a good impression on us Westerner's and there was a campaign for almost a year before the games to try to get the locals not to act that way around either American or European visitors. Anyway I hope that overall you enjoyed your holiday.
