The elevators are slow since everyone wants to use them; you are more efficient using the stairs. I recommend an aft room on Decks 8, 9, or 10 to have central access to pools, the Windjammer, Deck 5 (shopping/coffee), and the Main Dining Halls.

Get the junior suite. My brother got rooms which were supposed to sleep 3 but were not suites, and he was unhappy because they were so small.

For walking purposes I would get on Deck 4 and walk around. Very crowded and windy on walking track on top deck. Also the 12:00 to 1:00 pm $1.00 Mimosa sell every day is wonderful

Bring water, cokes and wine as this is expensive on board

Explore the entire ship. It has so much to offer. Try not to get into a routine for entertainment- there are so many tucked away areas to be discovered.

Plan your excursions before you come to save you the headache. Don't take too many clothes. Mostly used dresses (2 formal), take at least 2-3 bathing suits and coverups. You will wear these the most.

It takes at least and hour and for some it took two and a half hours to get off the ship and then you have another 30 plus minutes getting through customs so plan for that.

Don't do it. Life is too short to be miserable for 7 days.

They won't want to hear my food and sickness story, especially when one of my granddaughters was still sick and throwing up Monday!

We booked all of our excursions and drink packages ahead of time and it really let us just get on board and enjoy the cruise. I would highly recommend doing that!

Expect delays in Galveston if the weather is less than perfect, so choose an airline who will work with you if ship is delayed by fog during winter months.
jgrigsby
If you drink flavored creamer w your coffee, bring your own! They only have regular creamer and milk on the ship.

Be prepared relax don't try to do everything first day deal with concerts in a positive manner

Make sure to get wifi. This ship is huge

Prepare to have a wonderful time. Be prepared to walk a lot.

Don't tag your bags at the end of trip. Self carry was much faster and easy to do. Unless you don't mind waiting for hours

Book a room closer to the middle or back of the boat - - all dining is in the back. We spent a lot of time walking from front to back to eat.

Full of activity. Had to get to the pool deck early to have a lounge chair by the pool.
