Really appreciated Royal Caribbean letting us know about the traffic on the Gulf Fwy. - closed on weekends due to construction - really saved us a lot of time!!!

Plan on waiting a long time for elevators

Fly in the day before and stay close to the port. There were stressed out people on our shuttle trying to make the cruise same day. Our normally hour and fifteen minute ride turned into three hours with traffic and road closures.

Be prepared to spend more than you think

The TV, channel 14, they told you everything that was happening that day and what to expect. It was well worth listening to. If you go to Cayman Island, I would schedule your shore excursion through the ship because you have to take boats to shore and they make sure you make you get there on time.

Arrive around 12 ish or later. They won't let you in your room to drop things off until 100. The buffet area is crowded. If you're travelling with children, you may wish to eat lunch before boarding.

Bring a lanyard for your seapass. Otherwise, you'll want to buy one onboard. We also brought insulated thermos' to fill up with ice water throughout the day. It was priceless to have! Don't skimp on your sunscreen. The sun is intense!

Try to plan your excursions ahead of time with other providers. Royal Caribbean prices are a lot higher.

GO EARLY TO THE PIER. Bring waters and sodas and 2 bottles of wine.

Unplug and enjoy the trip. It is good to talk to people face to face and meet new friends.

The adult sports activities were on top and way at the rear of the ship. Too strenuous for me, but in my day I would have had fun there. They made excellent Mojitos at the adult pool ($12). In the Promenade , the Martini Bar made really amazing Chocolate Martinis ($14). Pricey.

Plan ahead where to go before arriving in each port.

On Liberty of the Seas I would recommend taking advantage of all there is to do on the ship. There are so many activities and I would especially recommend the wine tasting at Vintages, it was informative and entertaining. The presenters were great and we enjoyed our time spent in that establishment.

Bring patches in case of motion sickness

Board the ship early like we did and embarkation is a breeze.

My cruise was sold out, so we were full, I would recommend getting to the shows 15-20 minutes early, otherwise all of the good seats will be gone. I had to watch the comedian from behind a pole.

Be sure to look at the itinerary the ship gives you each morning. There is constantly something to do. I don't believe the people in this ship ever quit working.

Do it.

Next time we are in Grand Cayman we will probably rent a taxi and tour the island - very clean and safe island. Always plan ahead in Jamaica!! Not a safe place. The guest services staff is more than accommodating answering questions and giving great advice.

Be aware that shore excursions may not be what you signed up for. Windy weather (or as we suspected, too few people signed up), will cause a change in the itinerary and it may not take you where you wanted to go. Also check reviews and pictures of "beaches ". Parrot Tree was a lagoon not a beach!
