Unfortunately, I had fractured my foot 3 weeks before departure and had to rent a wheelchair. Should have rented a scooter instead since most hallways are carpeted making it difficult to move wheelchair. I needed assistance to go from one end of the ship to the other which would really tire you.

Getting on and off the ship were long processes. Didn't remember it being so and we have gone out of Galveston. Having a senior citizen and a couple fussing siblings made the return to home/customs miserable. No place to sit or rest, lots of standing.

We highly recommend packing light and carrying off your luggage at the end of the cruise. We were off the ship and in the shuttle to our car by 7:45AM!

We stayed at the 4 Points Sheraton in Galveston the night before and had no trouble getting to the boat on time.

Bring a lanyard to put your room key card. The soft drink package was well worth it for several members of our family. The AC was fantastic in our room as some other ships AC does not work as well in the rooms.

Don't go on this cruise if you and interested in dancing. The Cruise Director needs to play ballroom music in the Star Lounge when it is not being used for other events. The only music that was playing was disco. A lot of older couples on the ship would have liked it.

We were advised to board the ship about one hour before the boarding window closed. Let the bulk of the people board and let the lines die down, then simply walk on. Well, we didn't heed that advice, but I wish we would have. We were also told to pace ourselves with the food. Thankfully we did that.

Eat at the Fisherman's Warf at Pier 21 in Galveston on the back deck waterfront. It is amazing! Not too pricey either. Worth your stopping! Scottish Inn on Harbor Rd near the ferry is an older but clean and convenient hotel. Perk is you park for free while you cruise and get free shuttle to the Port

Great all around experience. Plenty to do on board. The Cruise Director does a great job planning for a wonderful experience.

I would definitely pick/reserve your excursions before getting on board. Second, have a credit card already linked to your account before getting on board. Why? The lines at the Guest Services counter can be long each morning and evening.

Would have been nice if there was some way of staying in touch with other members in our party. Rooms have phones and can call from room to room, but if your not in your room, very hard to find each other. Internet service was expensive, would be nice if they had less expensive coverage.

Unless you enjoy spending time in a smoky casino or lunge, be sure to be prepared to entertain oneself on days at sea when the weather is bad.
