Review summary

We booked this cruise during my school district's spring break since I am a teacher.  It went to Jamaica and Grand Cayman, places we had never traveled.  We took a cruise in December on this ship, but it was remodeled during the first of the year.  I doubt we will sail on this ship again.  We are ballroom dancers and there is very little music played during the voyage to interest us.  The orchestra played once by themselves and another time with the ship singers.  Those were the best times for dancing.  The ship's country band is from Europe and their music is not very good.

A nice dance floor was removed to make way for another specialty restaurant. What a waste.

Ship Quality

Very poor and small dance floors.

Cabin / Stateroom

It seemed small, but fine for our needs.

Ship tip

Don't go on this cruise if you and interested in dancing. The Cruise Director needs to play ballroom music in the Star Lounge when it is not being used for other events. The only music that was playing was disco. A lot of older couples on the ship would have liked it.

If you go to Chichen Itza be prepared for a long drive and not much time at the ruins.

So how was the ship ??? And the new slides

Yup, seen that on both of Princess Cruises I have been on. I think they comp/hire some of the couples to ballroom dance.

Sorry that's supposed to say dance not face

hey Tex, have you tried Princess, they have a lot of face music in the Explorers Lounge and also Club Fusion, I've often seen some lovely ballroom style couples

They said the reasons are is because American employees are used to 8 hour days and getting 2 days off when foreign employees arent. They typically work 16 hour days and don't complain and they rarely get days off on the ship. Plus they are harder workers and get paid less.

They don't have to deal with the IRS and the US tax system. I'd stick with foreign employees as well if those were my choices.

And just an FYI companies only employ people from other countries for many many reasons.

Yup that is why we all cruise, for the music.

Since the ship was going into remodel this past January/February a lot of the entertainment, food etc...was at minimum since they didn't want to stock up or spend much money on things. So you are giving it a rating based on before the renovations and getting back to normal.
