Review summary

This was a wonderful ship, with a great and accommodating crew.  Food was wonderful, amenities beyond our wants/needs, tremendous ports (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel) with the most memorable excursions and was just a great week overall.

The only real negative dealt more with the port of Galveston (luggage process, boarding, etc.) than with anything dealing with RCCL.  We would certainly choose this itinerary again, and after many cruises on other cruise lines ... well, I believe that we will stick with Royal Caribbean going forward.

Nice cabin with a great balcony view, and as nice as any balcony stateroom that we've ever had.

Besides decor and ship layout aren't the Cruise lines very similar? I saw 7 in the Cayman Islands and no one appeared to be hurting for food or bored to death

As for the excursions ... in Jamaica, we had already experienced Dunns River Falls, so we did a Canopy/Tram/Bobsled adventure on Mystic Mountain near Ocho Rios.  Tram up, bobsled run (excellent), zipline, and tram down.  Lots of fun.

In Grand Cayman, we had already experienced the stingrays (and, fortunately we hadn't booked that one, as it was cancelled due to high winds/waves), so we did the Turtle Farm/Sanctuary ... holding and swimming with green sea turtles was amazing, and we learned quite a bit there, too.

Now, in Cozumel, we did what for me was my favorite excursion EVER ... and that was the America's Cup 12-meter yacht RACE, where we actually worked the yacht Stars and Stripes (that won the America's Cup in 1987) as we raced against True North IV.  It was an AMAZING experience, a LOT of fun and excitement, and if you enjoy sailing ... DO NOT miss that excursion!!!

We have not done a Disney cruise ... and, since my children are grown, I doubt I will ... until maybe the grandchildren are old enough.

Have you done a Disney Cruise? How does RCCL compare to Disney?
