Review summary

This will be my last Princess Cruise. I think there are ships that offer more out there.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Easy peasy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Bland. Repetitive. Tasteless. BORING.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Loved all the trivia games. All the limited activities need to have numbers handed out so people don't just walk in ahead of those patiently waiting.

Lotus Spa

1 out of 5

If there were a zero available,,, Had the Coconut Rub. Waited 15 minutes for masseuse to get me. She asked through questions and then did nothing I requested. What I was completely offended with came at the end. I am used to vacation massages being pretty lackadaisical since they don't care about repeat customers, but I have never been hit with a 20 minutes sales pitch at the end. Way to ruin any relaxing benefits of mediocre massage and no wonder she was running late. Overall it was a miserable experience and the lowest point of the cruise. I would have complained then and there, but no one seemed to know where the manager was.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
I miss the big production numbers.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Noone was memorable or extraordinary. They all seemed too busy to be personable. My last cruise the room steward made a point of learning all our names, asking appropriate questions about our wants and needs - and then anticipating. He earned a $500 tip. his steward didn't even know our names on the last day. He earned no extra tip.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I hesitate to give a number. It looked exactly like the Coral Princess, which was both comforting and boring.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It was OK. Not much room to store items.

Ship tip

PACK LIGHT!!!

Cruise Glacier Bay

3 out of 5
Long day! You can only look at Glaciers for so long... (Don't tell my sister)

Cruise College Fjord, Alaska

1 out of 5
Scenery dull. Games on board were fun.

We had the exact same experience going through the Panama Canal on that ship. No more Princess for us.

Alaska is primarily about the ports and scenery, so the cruise lines don’t always put their flashiest ships on that itinerary. The ship is primarily a place to eat, sleep and use as transportation to the next port to see the amazing things Alaska has to offer. Most are too busy on their balcony or deck observing wildlife, glaciers and beautiful scenery to even consider what activities may be going on on the ship.
