A cruise is what you make it. This is an older ship and it doesn't have too many activities; however if you want to have a good time you will.

If you like smaller ships, this is one of the best. The staff goes overboard, not literally, to make this your best cruise.

Go early to events you want to see. Avoid the windjammer buffet, utilize the Park cafe. We purposely did not eat at the upscale restaurants, we love to get to know the wait staff and how they pamper you. Having the same staff at meals is a wonderful experience, one of the reasons for cruising

On the 10 day or longer cruises it’s a older crowd. The week during Thanksgiving there was over 300 kids. The week after there was 10. Some of the best ports of call are found on the Grandeur.

It’s dated but is a great ship. The staff was friendly. I prefer a promenade over a Centrum because when they do shows in the centrum, there isn’t enough seating. When you’re short like me, it’s hard to see over the people when you’re standing four or five deep. Just enjoy it and have a good time.

The week of Thanksgiving had over 500 kids on board. The week after had 20. The 10 and 12 night cruises have a lot older crowd. Entertainment options for kids is pretty slim if you compare to a oasis class ship or larger

If you have the ultimate drink package you can use it on all Starbucks purchases on the Grandeur. This is an extra charge on larger ships
