Review summary

Great ports of call; great weather, fortunately. A good value. Would recommend it to friends. The food was good and plentiful, and it had a lot of activities to appeal to all sorts of passengers.

Embarkation

A little slow, but understandable with today’s threat of terrorism. Having food available immediately was a nice touch.m

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Mostly, very good. I found most of the fish overcooked. The drink packages seemed overly expensive, and the alcohol packages seemed to encouage people to start drinking early in the day. Wine for breakfast? I went to the beer tasting event, and two of the beers were Heiniken and Coronna. What planet are the organizers from? Beer tasting is for rather exotic beers, not stuff you can buy at Wal-Mart.

Onboard Activities

I love trivia, but more than once the poor, young shipmate running the program had no idea if the answer on his/paper was right or wrong. When challenged, thdidn’t know what to do. This was because in two instances, they told us they didn’t have Wi-Fi to Google the answer. Eventually one of these employees told the crowd, if you challenge my answer, you lose all your points! Lovely. The prizes were cheap pens and highlighters. Right answers, or the truth, mean a lot to trivia players. Some got quite frustrated and belligerant with the organizers. I wouldn’t want their job. Wi-Fi on the ship is ridiculously expensive, about $12.99 a day. Employer: for Pete’s sake, quit being so damned cheap and provide it to your emploees running the trivia contests. It is simply providing them with the barest tools they need to do the job. This whole thing made Royal Britannia look cheap and miserly. My wife loved the towell-folding class.

Entertainment

Did’t go to a lot, but what we saw was very good and enjoyable.

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

Great service. Our waiter, Jose, from India, was paticularly nice and efficient.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Employees were always cleaning something. Loved the walking, jogging track on the 10th deck. Great views.

Cabin / Stateroom

Small, like a European motel room. Very clean. No problems

Ship tip

Get to the 10th deck and take a stroll!

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

Took the Trolley tour. It was very good.

Portland, Maine

Found a doughnut shop making donuts out of mashed potatoes! There were twenty people waiting in line to enter the store. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s great to wander about a town and see what you can find.

Bar Harbor, Maine

Lovely. Would like to revisit it sometime.

Saint John, New Brunswick

Beautiful city. Took a Trolley tour. Great fun. Two pound lobster was great, but not as great as the Maine Blueberry pie, which was devine.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Had fun walking around the harbor. Fine restaurants.

Disembarkation

Very organized, and didn’t seem to take too long.
