Most enjoyable by RenateW

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a very positive experience and Royal Caribbean is becoming one of my favorite lines (have cruised a lot and had strong preferences before). The staterooms on the Grandeur of the Sea are a bit more spacious and the bathroom had a better layout to make it easier in helping my handicapped husband. The cruise director was an absolute Dynamo and the best I have ever encountered. The selections and variety of food in the Windjammer Restaurant were outstanding and long lines ware rare due to many stations. The Dining Room at dinner, always a highlight for us, was disappointing. We had less experienced waiters and the overall noise level and "side shows " (many passengers obviously like them) took away from our usual dining room pleasure. Wasn't too impressed with the menu selctions either

Eine fast gelungene Kreuzfahrt by KarinT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Not so great by TaraS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was okay; it seems a little worn and the designs were woefully outdated. Mostly, my biggest complaint was with the pool--it was SO small and was crowded all the time. I believe the ship holds about 2,500 people and the pool can comfortably accommodate 25. The bars/lounges were nice, as were the restaurants. The staterooms were really small but that's to be expected. We had a million Spring Breakers on our cruise--the first night of the cruise, there was a fight at the pool and when we got to Key West, 18 kids were thrown off the boat. It set the tone for the cruise and really didn't improve from there on out. It was a first cruise for my husband and I and I can't imagine a scenario where I would go on another cruise. It's like being in line at Disney World and all the annoying people that are on line with you for the rides are at your hotel, in the pool, at the bar, in the restaurants, at the shows, etc. There is literally no escape. My husband and I are in our 30's with no kids. There were precious few other passengers in this age range. There were a lot of spring Break kids, families with small children and senior citizens. It just wasn't a good experience.

Not as good as the last one! by JoC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I think the big problem I has was that it was "spring break" and there were a lot of rowdy young people on board. There were 18 kicked off the ship for fighting in Key West and 2 left in Cozumel because they did not get back in time from an excursion.

Organization Extraordinaire by PatriciaW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We couldn't believe how so many people aboard a ship could be handled so efficiently, from getting on board, luggage to rooms, dining room location and service, and all the on board activities and places to visit an roam. The staff were all proficient, accommodating and friendly, and all very interesting considering they all came from so many different countries. It was great that there were so many and varied areas for all the ship guests to disperse to, to find their own particular area of entertainment and interest! The 4 piece band that played evenings on the 4th deck (boys from Poland) were exceptional and music very appropriate for age of guests. We were also very impressed how so many people disembarked the ship and could actually find their luggage immediately. Unfortunately when our luggage was originally delivered to our stateroom, I had my luggage carrier (on wheels), missing, but if that is the only mishap it's pretty amazing on a ship that size.

A great getaway, on a great ship by DennisW3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a last minute getaway, and a Valentines Day trip. It was excellent from the time we stepped into the ship terminal where we were greeted by a whole cast of friendly staffers and all kinds of cookies to the time we sadly had to depart and head back home. The ship was huge and offered something for everyone. Just as everyone whose been on a cruise will tell you, the food is fantastic and you can pretty much eat whenever and whatever you want.

A Great Cruise!! by LyndeeM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I just got a back from a 5 night cruise to Mexico on the ship Granduer of the seas. The Cruise was great, The weather was beautiful ,the staff was great, the food was out of this world, and the ship was wonderful! I have nothing but great things to say about Granduer of the Seas, everything was great. The staff goes out of there way to make your vacation wonderful, The ship was so clean and there is so many things to do on the ship all day long. No matter how old you are there is always something for someone to do, you never get bored! The night life is also great there is the wonderful casino, there is the Viking lounge that plays good music till late, there are shows you can go see or if you just want to sit outside and relax you can. The only complaint I have was that the rooms are a little small but you are never in your room so it really doesnt matter. I just wish I had a little more room for my luggage but you make it work. This was our 3rd cruise and we love it. I highly recommend this cruise!

Cruise your worries and troubles away. by Vaughan3580293

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very impressed with pretty much everything the ship had to offer. The cabins were roomy the staff friendly and of course the food magnificent.. We went as a smallgroup but a couple would have as much fun. Activities were plentiful. Really not much to say as to negativity. Only problem was one of the tours we took. We had to hang around 40 minutes before the bus left whilst we waited for a supposed couple to arrive. We weren't informed why we were waiting or to the problem. or why they were late. Probably oversleeped. Needless to say a tour should not hang around like that. Time is limited on these Tours, plus they are not cheap. We were made to feel that we had to rush the whole Tour. Next time we Cruise we feel it better to take our chances and either Rent a Car or let a Taxi take us around.

Clean everywhere. Good sized cabins made sharing with children comfortable. This was a great choice for 3 generations to be together without feeling claustrophic.

Good Cruise by RichardD6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Lovely ship with good construction, maintainence and layout. With the exception of the small shower size, accomodations were very good and served all of our needs. This is our 9th cruise and the first with Royal Carribean. This is the first time that we have had problems with the food at the main dining room. Two other people at our table also had complaints. We found the entrees lacking-especially the beef, after we had been told by the head waiter that the beef was "excellent". Quality of the meat, texture and taste were off. But the food at the buffet-Windjammer- was much better.

Pretty Average by MaryS39

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our Suite was well worth the extra money. We had an Owners Suite. We spent a lot of time in the room relaxing, reading etc. The food was disapointing in the main dining room it was the same as the food in the main cafe. That was disapointing to us. We cruised the last time on Celebrity and the food was of a much higher standard.

Grandeur of the Seas was nice and clean, well maintained, great public areas, light and bright. Large enough ship to never be bored and small enough that crowds did not become a struggle.

"An Excellent Floating Hotel" by JohnC39

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First I want to commend you on an orderly "boarding" and "departure" Airlines could take a que from you. Second, I think the entire crew went to "charm school" This made a big impact on us. Food was good but not great great. Ships "roll stabilization" on the first night out left a little something to be desired. very good entertainment. Shows were FUN Bottom line .... We shall go again
