make sure you check out dining options since we found better food in the Windjammer dinning than the main one

For example: Pizza was free at the Pizza place on the promenade. The drinks aren't free, but if you have one of the drink packages it pays off. Tips are included in the purchase of the package. They had a cupcake shop and I bought one of the cupcakes for a little over 2 dollars. It was delicious!

For the elderly the ships are getting larger and make for long walks to and from activities and meals.

If you are going to have about 3 drinks a day......get the drink package. It was very well worth it. I enjoyed the prepaid gratuities too. It was paid up front, so eliminated the expense later. You can always tip onboard if you like too.

Examine the ship upon going on board. deck 3 has sections only accessible from aft or stairs from 5 through the casino. Smoke is heavy in casino and pictures are next to casino. We did not enjoy looking at pictures because of the smell of smoke. The Promenade was a great place to walk through.

Good relaxing Cruise. Smoked Salmon has been removed from the buffets in both the Dining Room and Windjammer for Breakfast and Lunch. You need to ask for it and then wait 5-10 minutes for them to get it for you. RC, Please put it back on the buffets!!!

For example: Some people don't know, the food, not the drinks are free in Cafe Promenade.. I would have enjoyed more shops on the ship

lots of free carbs and the pizza tasted like it came from a box and anything but water has a very high price. other than the top deck the two main decks for walking to get thru the ship require you to go thru the casino. No self-laundry. Don't miss any shows. ALL tv had college basketball, no choice

If you want to have a beautiful view when sailing, go up to Viking Crown Lounge and have a drink of your choice and then sit back and enjoy the panoramic view of the sea ahead! Awesome.

Try the silent disco! Bring your own soft drinks on board- fairly expensive. AND most of all tip your servers- DO NOT let them add the automatically!! They are shared with EVERYONE, even people you never saw and your servers and stewards see a portion and it takes up to a month for them to get them!

Don't miss the entertainment. The shows were awesome. Definitely eat dinner in the Main dining hall...well worth a shower and dress clothes.

Free pizza, sandwiches & desserts on the Promenade were great. You can have something almost anytime. Hardly saw anyone in Ben& Jerry's or the Cupcake store. Wish there were a few more self serve soda machines scattered around the ship.

Wife enjoyed the Cupcake class that made a real looking Hamburger. I climbed the rock climbing wall, and we toured the galley, by purchasing a cookbook. I wanted to see the bridge and IT operations but the tour costs about $150.00 unless you are Diamond class, I heard.

If you are sailing Freedom you MUST stop by Boleros and get a drink with "Boozy Suzie", Danielle, and Roger the bartender. Stay in the evening for the live Latin music. SOOKIE SOOKIE! If you are doing my-time dining, try asking the maitre d' to be seated with Rose. You will not regret it!

There is a pizzeria on the ship which is free. If you're a heavy drinker, the drink package is a must if you're going to drink more than five alcoholic drinks a day. The Royal Promenade is the place to be for shopping and just a stroll.

I enjoyed the promenade and the free pizza and cake pops. Wish the didn't start requiring you to sign the drink receipts when you had the drink package.(that changed from my last cruise) Also, they no longer do the shot of the day during dinner. Our drink server accommodated us though.
