Fantastic ship! by AmandaM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great family ship. Activities for all ages. Most ships don't have ice skating, rock climbing, flow rider, to name a few. Children day care is run very well. Staff extremely attentive We had a great time on private island . The shows were enjoyable for the whole family. It's going to be hard to find anyother ship to equal Freedom of the Seas. I guess we will have to do it again on same ship.

Best cruise ever ! by AmandaM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved this cruise ship. It had so many things to do. I loved the rock climbing and the ice skating. Most ships do not have these activities. We were on a family trip (10 of us) all different ages and everyone found things to do alone and together. We even found time to use the board games. Dinner with our whole family together was great. The staff was so friendly and took such good care of us. The private island was wonderful. What a great day ! Can't wait to do this again.

Amazing ship. Best one we have been on. by AmandaM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Best ship we have ever been on and we have been on many different cruise lines and ships. It was perfect for our family. Our younger grandchildren were kept busy in camp so their parents had lots of free time. Our teen age grandchildren had so many choices of things to do and were extremely happy. The parents were able to do activities with there children. The ships staff was so friendly. The entertainment great. It was a dream come true for our whole family.

grandsons graduation gift cruise by MaryE13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

the room steward service was excellent. i will not sail on it again because i thought it was too big, being a senior it was too much walking. all the ships need a golf cart or some transportation from the ship and down the pier, it was too far for me to walk so i never got to go ashore. this is a service that i would gladly pay extra for the service. the shows were also excellent. i would not recommend for seniors.

Wonderful Experience by CarolL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful cruise. The service people were extremely nice. My only two complaints were the sofa bed (even the stateroom attendant commented about it being a smaller sofa bed). It would have been perfect for two children but way too small for adults The second problem I had was the evening dining. It took 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours the only two evenings we ate there. We missed things going on elsewhere so we decided to eat at the Windjammer and could exit as early as we needed to go do other things..

Best Vacation Ever!!! by MaryT11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on Royal Caribbeans Freedom of the Seas. It was the trip of a lifetime. Neither of us had ever been on a cruise before and we were not sure what to expect. We were both blown away. The ship was enormous. It consisted of various levels of bars and resteraunts and entertainment. There was no shortage of amusement from the exciting shows to the screening room, ice rink, and rock-climbing wall. There was plenty to do for people of all ages and interests. We had heard that Royals Caribbeans dining selections were phenomenal but yet they still exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, we never made it to Chops Grille or Portofinos but the food at the other dinning rooms was so exceptional that we didnt feel like we were missing out. In fact, the service was so impeccable and the meals were so delicious that dining is up there with my favorite experiences. One of the nicest features was the very well equipped gym and yoga facility. I loved the way the fitness room jutted out into the ocean. I dont think Ive ever felt so motivated during my workouts as I did on the Freedom of the Seas something about the way you feel suspended over the ocean was so beautiful. I also loved the track that ran the perimeter of the top deck and boasted some of the most stunning views Ive seen. We were crazy about the night life options, from champagne bars to hot clubs every night we felt like we had been transported to a totally different place where we could really cut loose. I was thrilled with our stateroom. I was surprised by how spacious it felt. There was a place to put everything so we were really able to settle in. Every morning we woke to the most stunning ocean views and every night we would sit out on the balcony and marvel at the stars. Our stateroom attendant was excellent we went the entire week in want of nothing. The Freedom of the seas offered everything we could have wanted and then some. I will certainly be cruising with Royal Caribbean again!

1st Timers Thrilled by TraceyJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were not sure cruising would be for us and I would comfortably say we are pretty hard to please when it comes to vacations but this was by far the best decision we made. The ship was WONDERFUL, clean and everyone was so friendly. I loved the Cruise director. Shows were good and so much going on that we had tons of options.. My kids loved the teen clubs and were entertained the entire trip. The total trip was a bit more pricy than we wanted to spend but we LOVED it.

Freedom of the Seas Cruise 6/13/2010 by IsidoroM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Quite and enjoyable cruise though it was marred by a cafeteria accident by my Son in Law who got burnt by a hot plate while picking up food and an employee moving the plate at the same time. Medical service and assistance were first class, but customer relations and Hotel Manager were less than sympathetic to his missing a snorkling trip and shore visits per Dr. recomendation after blisters were poped open. Offered no compensation and or sympathy for his loss of enjoyment of the cruise.

Ship was huge, never a dull moment. There was so much to do we actually slow down and relax at one point. Entertainment was amazing, destinations were beautiful, service was excellent, excursions were unforgettable. I was so stressed before I left and now I am totally relaxed.

Our Wonderful Honeymoon Cruise by MarkW13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently sailed on the Freedom of the Seas for the first time, and all we can say is "Wow!" My Wife had been on the Sovereign of the sea a few years back but we had no idea what to expect. Beautiful restaurants, a fantastic pools and the nightclub made our Honeymoon cruise special, they even made a cake for us and helped us celebrate one night. We really like Royal Caribbean's style, service, and innovative ship and after speaking with Allen Brooks the Cruise Director He is Great by the way we plan to book again on the new Oasis of the sea. The Dining room is beautiful and cozy, the service was great the staff delivers outstanding personal service. The Windjammer buffet really isn't a "buffet" it's like a cool marketplace/food court with many more choices, stations you can approach from all sides (so no endless line!). The Food area is very wide-open and airy feeling, a huge step up from the typical ship buffet. We loved all the nightlife options. The shows were great and we enjoyed the new Latin club, Boleros, the Champagne Bar and the live music at Schooner's Pub. Felt like a totally different night out, every single night. The ship features are most apparent on the pool deck, truly one of the most beautiful we've ever seen. The multi-color splash pool and suspension bridge are amazing. Our stateroom was cozy and had nice features (really liked the new shower 'door". Lots of storage elements, easy to unpack and fell like there was a place for everything. Overall we have to say the ship was really impressive, the staff was wonderful, and even if we don't sail on the Oasis we will sail on the Freedom again soon

Royal Caribbean ROCKS! by JanelleH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My family (14 of us) traveled on the Freedom of the Seas on a 7-day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and it was nothing short of AWESOME! The staff was amazing. Our head waiter Mr. Pilgrim, Hasan (our waiter), Korea (our assistant waiter), Gregory (the bartender that we adopted) and Clifton (our room attendant). These folks were second to none. The crew treated us better than family (if you can imagine that). The food was great. The crew knew that my family was originally from Trinidad so they made us surprise Trinidadian cuisine meals. We were concerned about having three at sea days but the activities on the ship were amazing...didn't even miss a beat. Can't wait to do it again. Next time...Western Caribbean...and then Europe!
