Our Freedom of the Seas Cruise by Tigerton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have absolutely NO complaints about any part of ouro cruise. Our stateroom was a pleasant surprise ... didn't know it would be that big. Balcony is certainly worth the extra price. The personnel are exceptional. The entertainment was great (except for the Elton John guy). Food was very delicious, excellent choices.

Joyce & Sam's Cruisen Review by SamBrown

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything went well except t0h Royal Carribean Resort. There I (Joyce) missed a step on the Dragon Walkway and down I went. Sam tried to catch me and also went down. We both experienced cuTY s and scraps on our legs and hand. There was no marking on the stone steps that would alert a person to step down, there was no hand rail that one possibly could hold on to. SAFETY FACTORS Your staff was very helpful and assisted us in getting medical attention. The medical personnel were very knowledgeable and gave us excellant care. Follow-up was given to insure that infection did not set in. We are very pleased with the medical care given. Thank you Royal Caribbean.

Cruising is not like it used to be....... by Jerseygirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was nice, clean and well appointed. The food in the dining room was good, some hits, lots of misses. Tip:don't ask for hot tea at breakfast--unless you want to wait 20 min! The Windjammer cafe has lots of variety--again--some hits, lots of misses...Cabin w/ balcony was great.Embarking and disembarking were very ez and quick. As for the shows, we were not impressed. Had a good time, but don't feel the value was there, ....cruise director was less than impressive.

second chance by bernardditter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second trip on Royal Caribbean and we will find it difficulty to try another cruise Line. Freedom of the Seas, while large in vacationers was equally large in staff. The itinerary was second to the service, food and entertainment. The ship was immaculate and service could not have been more attentive. One minor issue was the program called my time dining or some equivalent title which encouraged those who did not wish first or second seating in what would be considered the main dining rooms to dine in a third dining room at their pleasure. Too many of us interpreted that to mean no reservation dining and some confusion ensued.when we were then asked to reserve a time specific, not what I would consider "my time dining". Small concern, quickly solved but easier avoided with some small ezplanation of the program

Best Cruise, Ship, Crew, Food and Service by johndratch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was one of the best, if not the best, cruise ship I have ever been on. The ship, Freedom of the Sea, is a wonderful ship. the Crew was curtious and responsive to our needs. the Food was outstanding in the dinning room and the buffet at Windjammers. The Specialty resturants were excellent. All in all I would have to rate this experience on our Christmas Cruise with Royal Caribbean to beexcellent and would recommend this Cruise line to any one.

Family, Friends and Fun by DOCSGM

Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

What a great way to celebrate my birthday, retirements, and the holiday season! We had time togeter and time to just do our own thing - no one got underfoot. My grandson enjoyed the youth programs. I came home to snow and sleet - darn it ; should have stowed away for another week.

Never Again by Nan71654269

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

1. Was lied to about the amenities in the room: I called a few days before we set sail to check the amenties in the room so I wouldn't have to bring double. Big mistake. 2. Balcony stateroom was a lot smaller than others we have been on. 3. I ordered a special diet which I was told was no problem. The servers have no idea whats in the food and there was no special diet options for me. When I got sick, they gave me a hard time about canceling shore excursions. 4. Staff was friendly which was the only redeeming quality. 5. Too many packed lines for everything, shows, pool chairs, food - everything was a long line. 6. Over-run with children.

Cruise Review by jen90658

Everyone that worked on the ship were so friendly and willing to help. Especially a great time at Chops Grille with Tiffone Archer who was our waitress. Haiti excursion could have been a little bit better with a whole less mosquitoes. Grand Cayman and Cozumel had great excursions. Bingo on board was soo much fun!

Blah Cruise by Harlan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Stateroom was so far back in the stern that my knee replacement surgery (10 weeks ago) was in jeopardy. When asked to move100yds close to elevator was told staterooms were sold out. Didn't go to Coco Cay beach as passenger had to be taken to hospital in Nassau... We docked at Nassau (I've been there 10 times) and didn't get off ship..... Food tasted like bland cardboard, snorkeling in 10 ft visibility water was not exactly fun. Won Bingo though, highpoint of cruise. Won't be booking through in the future......

This cruise was average. by TraceyG41638407

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship was clean. Staff was friendly, helpful, and upbeat. We have been on Disney 3 times and RC Allure and Oasis. So, we are spoiled with the nicest ships on the sea. Beds were not comfortable, limited activities, lots of geriatric people, not many included food choices, sodas not included, extra money for kids club lunch and dinner. Extra charge for fine dining was NOT worth the money. It was average. Disney, Allure and Oasis blows this ship away.

We really enjoyed Freedom of the Seas. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is great. The shows were good, but not mind-blowing. There was plenty to do on ship for all ages and personalities.

Little Things Missing from Experience by TerryM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Freedom of the Seas didn't quite seem up to the standards of other RCCL ships I've been on in the last few years but, by only a slight margin. For example, towels placed in the bath were frayed in a couple of occasions. The bed mattress had a permanent depression. The television didn't have a CBS, ABC, or NBC option but, that is a minor beef. I didn't like that the cruise line now includes the loyalty club concierge as a required tip when you pay with your credit card. An error in posting a loyalty coupon to my account was never corrected before I had to get off and the customer service people didn't seem to care about their error. The overall value I seem to be getting has declined more than the cost has gone up. I still like RCCL and cruising but it isn't the value I've grown accustomed to over 18 cruises in 11 years.

Just an average cruise by IlonaF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I was on this ship about a year into its service and had an excellent experience the first time which motivated me to cruise it again; however, this experience has motivated me to not cruise with this crew again. The ship itself is still beautiful with a few worn areas but nothing worth mentioning. The difference in my opinion was the feeling that cruise director and the staff we came in contact with were just doing enough to get by and not going the extra mile I have come to expect in cruising. For example, the cruise director and some of the staff had a sloppy appearance and seemed bored. Also the staff in the fitness center also were not willing to see to the details. At the beginning of cruise I inquired about a malfunctioning machine and one of the trainers said it needed a battery and that I had to ask the manager.....not my job to now hunt down a manager; it is not my fitness center. I paid money to have access to this amenity. I'm also very dissappointed with how the captain handled, rather mishandled dealing with sailing near a hurricane. Would it not have warranted perhaps skipping CocoCay where we could not tender out and sailing further south to St. Thomas or St. Maarten ahead of schedule for the safety and comfort of the passengers? Did I mention that it was also a Make a Wish cruise?

A great cruise by PattiK19505250

It was very clean. The staff was always working to make it look good. Like the new sign boards to help you find your way around the ship. It was a good improvement.
