Our cruise by Anthonynegrii

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was very well serviced by a very good crew and staff. Food was satisfying, and plenty of it. Activities were more geared for family and children. We enjoyed the game rooms the gym ,and bingos but not enough of them. We did not like being all the way back of ship ,as we had to walk so far for the elevators. Enjoyed the scenery from the ship as we did not leave the ship, we just wanted to relax and get away from everyday life. Next time we will check out reviews and choose a smaller ship.

Great Experience by AnnieLittle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise with this cruise line. It was an exciting and enjoyable experience. I would most likely use this cruise line and again and have told many of my friends about it. Continue the good work. I did have one concern, though and that was for Senior Citizens having to climb up on a bunk bed from the ceiling of the cabin. Maybe you need to think about pulling them from the walls.

The Freedom of the Seas by Cruisingoal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I rated this cruise a five on the overall service, a plus for my stateroom steward she was great her name is Valerie. We were at table number 347 in the dining room they were great too. The food were very good. I have two things that I feel I have to address. I was told by the cruise line that I couldn't bring water. I told them my reason for bringing the water. I still were told no water. But, when I arrived to board the ship there were people with water. Some guests had 2 cases or more. Second, I used the online computer on the ship and I got ready to print my papers and the printer didn't print out my documents. I call maintance and I waited about 30 minutes but no one came. I were charge for the 30 minutes I waited. But the overall cruise was great.

Freedom of the Seas Report Card by RoyalCaribbeanC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Absolutely the best cruise we have ever been on. The cruise director, Richard Spacey was amazing. We are already planning our next royal Caribbean cruise on the same ship. Our waiter was also the best. Great staff and a wonderful experience!

Freedom-nice but not over impressed by NJTravelGrl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall I had a good time on the Freedom of the Seas. My traveling partner and I are both 37. We enjoyed the itinerary except for Haiti. It was just ok. We went back to the ship early. There was always something to do on the ship and the entertainment was fanastic. Richard Spacey the cruise director and Katie the activities manager were phenomenal. I enjoyed strolling on the Promenade. The staff was friendly. I'm not sure how accomodating they are as we didn't require any special treatment or have any requests (unless having the stateroom attendant remove the coffee table counts). Those rooms are small. The areas where improvement are needed are with the food and the music. The DJ (dj James) was lousy. He wasn't a dj at all. He was more of a press play and pretend he's dj'ing. The entire week he played the same songs in the same order. It became a running joke with several guests on the ship about which song would play next. Fortunately the music was current so that it wasn't the worst. The food left a lot to be desired. The food was never piping hot, always just warm. The cooking preference on the meat was never right. It seems they serve meat either rare or well. Finding a medium cut was like finding Waldo. Most of the food was quite bland. They seem use sauce to add flavor instead of seasoning the meat. It was interesting to watch on RCTV how these chefs are so skillful and prepare foods fresh and so forth and I didn't experience any of that when it came to the food. In all fairness there were a couple of well prepared items but I never had a complete meal that was good. Believe it or not the lobster was bad. How can that be? As for the buffet, it's a buffet; you get what you get. I guess serving mediocre foods helps to remedy over eating unless you're keen on sub par food. Also check your folio. I was charged for 2 pool towels that were returned. They quickly refunded the money. I wonder how many people have paid for things they didn't take. Also it would be nice to not have to go up to 11 to get towels to go back to 1 to get off the ship when in port. You were able to check your towel in on 1. Would I sail with Royal again? Sure, I'll just lower my expectations in some areas.

Virgos Rock 2013 Birthday Cruise by EpicH0823

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I just want to say that this cruise was by far the best of the 2 cruises I've been on. My first cruise on 2009 was aboard the Carnival Imagination to Cozumel and Key West. I enjoyed that cruise too, but Royal Caribbean has become my 1st choice from here on. Me and 5 of my best female friends embarked on a cruise to celebrate our birthdays. The crew aboard the Freedom of the Seas was awesome, the activities was awesome, the dining was great, and the ports were just great. I am planning my next cruise as we speak. I'm hoping to try a different destination aboard another one of Royal Caribbean's fleet. Thanks...

7 days by marypad1965

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was nicer inside then it was outside. The ship was rocking the whole time at sea even with good weather. The staff was nice but we ran into some rude staff. The ships activilty for the teens was not good. They had no teen counselors there to show the kids what to do give them some guidence. I would most likely not take another cruise threw Royal Caribbean again. Thank you

Seven days of having to do nothing!! by BobO5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 5th cruise on the Freedom of The Seas. As in the past we had a good time, all the staff was very accommodating. We had good weather the whole trip so we spent most of our free time on deck 11 pool side. Our waiter & assistant waiter were great. There was 8 at our table and they remembered all of us by name after the 1st night. As always the food was excellent.

Simply Amazing Crew! by CarolL6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We love the three sister ships to start with. We love the food 2nd. However over and above all else the crew was more than terrific. They helped us through a hard time. We traveled with my brother and sister-in-law and before we left port we found out that their son's wife had a bad accident. She passed the next day. The crew did everything they could to aid them in communicating with their family and get them off safely in Jamaica to fly home. Thanks to everyone especially the gal at Guest Services. I believe her name was Alicia Edwards. I could have forgotten. Thanks again. You had already won us over before this happened, but we're in solid now. Thanks Carol Lipsit State Room 1290.

Sept 1-8, 2013 Freedom of the Seas cruise to West Caribbean by McBroom3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, a pretty good cruise. The service was excellent! It is very evident that Royal Caribbean impresses upon their staff a culture of customer service excellence. The boat itself was beautiful of course and the rooms clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the themed activities (50/60's, 70's and 80's nights) However, overall, I must admit to being a bit disappointed in the overall variety of activities offered daily - particularly on "sea" days when there should be alot more. The boat does have alot of sport activity type offerings though. Main dining room food was good but in my opinion, the buffet wasn't great and I felt food in general was better on Princess as were the activity offerings. Cruise ports were good and embarkation/disembarkation were fairly painless.

Fun Cruise. Overall very good but not the best... by CruiserCanada

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second cruise in three months. We came back in July from an Eastern Mediterranean cruise on Celebrity Reflection and then went on the RCCL Freedom of the Seas Aug 18-25, 2013. It was a little unfair because the Reflection is a new ship while Freedom launched in 2006. Freedom while having updated public spaces is showing it's age in the staterooms and halls. Overall, our RCCL Freedom of the Seas cruise was alot of fun. The sting ray excursion in the Cayman Islands is a must. The food was good but not awesome. The shows were very good; especially the Motown singers. I think they were called Spectrum? Service was good especially our server Rolando. Our stateroom was always tidy but I would not say his service was excellent. The staff on RCCL do not greet you unless you greet them. I found this very unfriendly after having exceptionally friendly staff on Reflection. The Seventies Party was also a highlight for me. I'd recommend this cruise and Freedom of the Seas just don't go with high standards. Be prepared for good but not great.

Favorite ship of the Freedom fleet by TravelingTammy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Royal Caribbean cruises are the top of the line, with Freedom of the Seas being my favorite ship of them all.  No matter if this is your first cruise or your fifty-first, you're treated like kings and queens.  The staff members are courteous, room attendants and wait staff are very attentive, and the performers are highly entertaining.  Highly recommended for all to try!

Best cruise ever by Staugbeachmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

After more than 60 cruises, we finally booked an affordable balcony cabin. It was not just the balcony that made this cruise so outstanding. The entertainment was fabulous--including the ice show, broadway review, magic show, comedians, and the orchestra--was as good as it gets. This was also the largest ship we've been on. Because of Royal Caribbean's "organizational skills" it rarely seemed over crowded. Crew and cruisers were friendly. Food was OK.

Beautiful, funfilled, entertaining Ship! by meadow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is the 4th time we have been on this ship! We love Royal Carribean and this particular ship. We have been on other ships and with other cruise companies, like this ship the best! This year my entire family came aboard the Freedom, we all had a great time. Did notice a few things different from last year. No candy on the pillows at nightime, the drinks were half the size that they were last year. I liked the menu they used last year/ it was better, I liked the choices much better. Food in the dining room was good, not great! Our room steward Jose took excellent care of our room/ he was so nice! The entertainment was great, but I am getting tired of seeing the same shows over again. I am looking forward to going on the new Quantum.
