Disappointed by herschelvm

Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

RC has the best ships. The ship was awesome. But the service was lacking room service was very slow. Consistently about 45 min. I had to call 3 times to get ice. The was no room steward available between 12 and 5 because as I was told by my steward he goes on break during that time. I understand but is there no one to fill in during that time? They had a beautiful robe and slippers on display that was not on sale in any of the shops. I was sent to guest services who was clueless. Later that day someone called the room explaining how I could order one. By then I didn't care. There were kids running all over the ship. I mention this because Carnival has a great way of handling kids. You don't even know there on the ship. Otherwise it was a great trip. The staff is friendly. This is my favorite carribean itinerary. (What they've done with Labadee in the last ten years is amazing. And of course the ship is amazing. I'll cruise RC again. (This was my third) but I hope they improve room service and talk to Carnival about ways to keep kids occupied.

Fantabulous Cruise Experience! by Cruiser237

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Kris Kerns and her team at organized and handled our family cruise (17 of us with 9 kids from 16-2 years of age) with such friendly, professional and knowledgeable expertise.  She has organized a total of 7 cruises for us, and all have been amazing!  I never worry about any details because Kris takes care of everything - scheduling, communicating payments, making sure all is in order on the ship, hotels prior to cruising, and limos to the ship!  Always available for questions, and provides a worry, trouble free vacation for my whole family!  Thank you, and we look forward to working with you for many years to come!   Pam Putnam and family

Great except for Grand Cayman by brianandarlene

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great destinations except for Grand Cayman which stunk if sewage off the port and at 7 mile beach. I see from reviews on trip advisor this has been going in for years. Drop it from the itinerary!

Impeccable Service; Friendly crew by lkukich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise was by far the best vacation we've had thus far.  The service (dining room, stateroom attendants, bartenders, etc.) were superb.  Everyone was so fun and the ship was very clean!

Good by ncsherryk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

i wish I could give it a 5 star but I can't. Almost everything was a 5 but then one thing can change all that. The a/c in our stateroom did not work properly it was hot at night so we didn't sleep well. I reported this on two different days. I think they worked on it but it was never repaired. We finally just gave up reporting it and did the best we could. That's why I couldn't give a 5. I think they should have followed up with the repairs to see if it was working properly.

Freedom of the Seas by scain

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a wonderful time on Freedom of the Seas.  The staff, ship, food and entertainment were all wonderful.

I am lactose intolerant and the head waiter gave me a menu each night for the next day's meal. I was able to order my meal in advance and they made it lactose free for me.  Right down to the bread. I have never had such wonderful service in my life.

Every aspect of our trip was wonderful except for the weather the first couple of days.  It was very windy and the surf was so rough that we were unable to stop at CocoCay.  We were very pleased that our captain put our safety over everything else.

there was ample entertainment to please every taste.  I believe that if you didn't have a good time, it was your own fault.

i highly recommend this cruise ship and itinerary.

Missed 1 Port by toddwmills

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

We missed Coco Cay for weather related reasons. Ship and services was excellent. Even my brother did not complain out of our party of 6. Need more ports on this 7 night cruise.

Caribbean by jean2longlake

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I was very disappointed in the offerings for days at sea.  No educational seminars, no travel talks about the culture and history of the destination islands.  I am not interested in expensive shopping.  Give it up already with pushing that constantly.

I love to take part in yoga and tai chi, but not at $12 per session.  They should be free.  The line dancing classes were very good.  The same young woman from Montenegro, Serbia, did the jewelry classes, and she was good there too.

The entertainment in the Arcadia Theater and the Schooner piano bar were excellent.

Really stellar service by karejone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first time on an RCL cruise. The Freedom was really nice, love the Promenade down the center. Actually makes it easier to get from one end to the other. Although this is the largest passenger ship I have been on, it didn't feel crowded or hard to get around. I was travelling w/elder family member in electric scooter, but he got around well too. Food and dining room service was better than any of my last three cruises on competitors. Cristopher and Sheila Mae were so professional and patient, esp w/our 94yo w/scooter. Other staff came by to ask how things were, too. Alot of attn paid at all meals in dining room

Awesome cruise as always by rdthomas1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We thoroughly enjoyed our Eastern Caribbean Cruise aboard Freedom of the Seas. We love Royal Caribbean!! Since we started cruising with Royal Caribbean we have not cruised with any other cruiseline. The ships are the best with features no other cruiseline has...you have to try them out. It's worth every penny spent!!

Great time! by davis0212

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We traveled with three other couples and had a wonderful time.  Only a few minor glitches occurred and we were very pleased overall. Our dining experience was particularly outstanding as we bonded with our Maitre de. servers and wait staff.

We have already booked another cruise on Royal Caribbean for next year!

Freedom of the Seas by alcarter423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship was very nice, food in windjammer just ok. Food in dining room was very good. The only disappointment that we had was that most people were mad about something. Not sure what it was but I asked others about this and they saw the same thing that we did. People would stop in front of you without regard that there were other people behind them and most didn't apologize once they noticed.

Nice cruise by Cruiser596

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

ship needs updating in rooms.  Service was great.  Did scuba diving at Grand Cayman and Couzomel!   Couzomel was absolutely fantastic.  Will go for a week long dive there in the future!  The private area at Haiti was also very nice and relaxing.  Just remember they are all on "island" time.

MY FIRST CRUISE by jesi47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Being my first cruise I was very open minded about what to expect and I was not disappointed. Boarding was a breeze, our Junior Balcony Suite was a fantastic choice but I am sure spoiled me for any future cruises.  Our room attendant was phenonemal and made every day a pleasure. Our wait staff was excellent and more than accomodating.  We had a little rough weather the first day but it did not damper the ability to find things to do on ship. The ship was beautiful, especially the dining rooms and the Promenade.  We took two excursions and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The shows were to be applauded in every way. Best of all, we met a lot of people and made some friendships that will last into the future.  I look to forward to another cruise in the not too distant future.

Seven Days of Fun! by doll1340

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our time on this cruise. My only complaint was not enough time in Mexico and better food in the main dining. We had a great time at the shows and the daily activities were fun!
