Wonderful cruise, but the shore excursions were a bit lacking. The dining staff was AMAZING, especially Dwight and Antonio. We really enjoyed our trip!

Great Vacation by titansguy1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was crowded. You could tell more rooms were added.  I did not care for the solarium. It was to small. Needs to be more like the Oasis class.  We had a good time with our friends.

Ship expereince was good, excusions through cruiseonly.com were HORRIBLE!!!!!!! by janicetoben

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship and entertainment on the ship were great. Swimming with the turtles in St Thomas,  and the rum, reggae beach trip in St Marteen were the absolute worst. I have gone on 4 snorkeling trips over the years, and the boat (Fury) and the Captain made for a horrible trip. Rum Punch tasted like sea water, the capt made discolored and inappropriate comments about women " and his many ex wives" VERY offensive, he was rude, and the snacks provided were a bowl of pretzels and one type of granola bar. The Rum Beach bus ride in St Marteen was disorganized. 30 minutes late to the beach, and had to wait another 15 mintues to have someone come get us to take us to the beach. Waitress at the beach was rude. Both excursions were horrible.

2016 vacation on the seas by cgcampbell

Junar took excellent care of our stateroom and would help open the door when my hands were full. We even left messages with him when we couldn't find the rest of our group! Anthony & Deepak took great care of us at My Time dinning. It was very relaxing and enjoyable! Thanks!

Great vacation as always Royal Caribbean by ramendrarudra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Price I paid was little too much, and price actually dropped after I have purchased, but my agent refuse to match the price at the time. I was talking with some other people on the cruise few had price matched at the end.

Great staff and okay service but low on activities. by justingottlieb479

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My girlfriend and I had wonderful room attendants and servers for our room and dinner. Our biggest problem was that we did not have a working remote control when we first arrived in our stateroom. I went to guest relations and had to call twice before anyone brought up a new remote. My checked in luggage was confiscated from me initially because they thought I brought an extension cord. It was an iPhone charger. How does that get mixed up? On top of that I had to carry my whole luggage bag from the bottom deck all the way to my room. Also room service was very slow. It took and hour and a half to receive a ginger ale. How could that take so long? Lastly, I felt that there weren't enough activities on board. I wish they had a waterslide and multiple activities at once that targeted the same age groups so there could be more options. The 7 and 9PM shows were also a hassle because we had to rush dinner some nights to feta good seat and be on time. Besides these issues we had a fantastic trip. We may do more through research before we book another cruise though.

Freedom of the Seas June 2016 by rwynn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was very good and I would cruise on Royal Caribbean again. The suite room and balcony were larger then expected. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean ship and fun excursions. Very confusing "My Time Dining". Makes it sound like you can show up and eat whenever you want but that was not the case. We had to make reservations and with only one night exception we were not able to be seated until within about 5 minutes of that time. Also not happy with the beverage package. Paid daily fee per adult to have soft drinks and every day either the machines were out of ice, out of drinks or out of order completely. For the size of the ship they should have had more machines or had someone servicing them more often. We definitely did not get our money worth for the cost.

50th Anniversary Cruise by tctaylor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Been able to cruise with our family for a special occasion.  The head waiter, cabin steward, assistant server and server was excellent, we sat at table 313.  We have been on this cruise ship twice before and felt this time that the overall service on this ship was lacking this cruise.  It seemed that they had less personnel to take care of the large crowd that was on board.  Up on the windjammer it was very hard to find seats for 6 together and the variety of food was lacking unless you liked Asian. The taco station was very crowded and very small.  I had an issue with my IBS and the doctor on staff did not seem familiar with this, she just wanted to confirm to to my quarters not understanding my IBS issue.  I was supposed to be reimbursed for the day I was in my cabin but as of this date have not seen anything.  Previous cruises we have rated this ship with 5 stars but we could not do it this time.  Quality seemed to be lacking.

Happy Family = Happy Dad by blacey815

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We couldn't be more happy with our experience.  Everything was outstanding from the ship itself - we found everything clean, and in good working order.  To our staterooms as all were comfortable and exactly what we were told we would get.  Not to mention on the stuff to do on board!  Several live entertainment options, games, sports activities and so on...we're going to have to go on another cruise to cover it all!

What really matters is the people that are providing the service and absolutely everyone was as nice and accommodating as they could be.  Everyone exceeded our expectations.  Once we had our wait staff, captain of our section and the chef trained in the main dining room on one of our daughter's nut and diary allergies - all of the staff went above and beyond every single day to ensure she had not just something to eat, but something to present to her that put a smile on her face as the rest of us were impressed with our food choices/presentations as well.  That REALLY makes a parent feel so much better - for their special dietary needs child to have the same experience as the other children!  :-)  THANK YOU!

An enjoyable experience once you find a way to turn off the noise by moost

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship and amenities was a pretty complete package, with multiple choices at just about every hour.  The pools are great but on sea days they are really slammed.  Luckily the abundance of other activities work to put some people in other places.  If you are a pool person you will be disappointed though.  RCI would be well served to maybe turn down the volume on the pool deck to make it less a central theme of the ship during daytime hours.

The Solarium was a lot, lot more crowded than it it was on my previous cruise.I guess this is partly an overflow from the pool more than it is an extra number of people wanting the quiet space.  Once again, don't know what RC could do about it.

I only have two real complaints.  One, the constant hocking on the promenade and on the TV and announcements.  Just as you find a way to turn it into background clutter RC changes tactics to put it right back in your face.  Do we really need round-the-clock reminders of the "deals" being offered at the stores at the ports giving kickbacks to the cruiseline?  If I see that same smiling face urging passengers to come to the front of the boat for jewelry information over and over and over and over again it will be too soon.  And second, live music in the bars.  Living in Nashville may have spoiled me on this.  Surely there is room for a few solo artists and bar bands to move around the bars in the evening.  Maybe they get in the way of the announcements about art auctions and Effy sales?  There is more to life than  steel drum or reggae bands by the pool.
