Leaving this ship and itinerary plus the wonderful staff was very saddening. They make your stay with Royal very satisfying but wanting to stay longer.

Halloween cruise 2016 by islandcruiser14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Wow! After having cruised on Freedom of the Seas many times, I knew I would enjoy this cruise!  This was my first HALLOWEEN cruise and it did NOT disappoint!  The Halloween costume party/parade was definitely a highlight of the cruise.  However, the most impressive part of this cruise was the Captain choosing to take us to Grand Cayman instead of Cococay!  He made this decision when he found out that Cococay was covered with severe weather.  We had picture-perfect weather throughout our voyage!  Furthermore, we had outstanding service while on board the Freedom! I always say the crew makes the cruise! I'll definitely miss the convenience of cruising out of Port Canaveral on the Freedom!  She will be sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale, moving forward.

Halloween Cruise 2016 by Cruiser16855901

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise director is great.  This trip wasn't as bad as past trips but still think you shouldn't be able to go out at 7am and block off poolside chairs so you can come down after lunch.  Buffet food wasn't the greatest, runny eggs most days....good thing is you always have so many other options, bad thing....don't go during the breakfast rush...hard to find seating, but again there's other options.  Balcony rooms are the best, and as always our dining room staff was perfect!

Great ship, wonderful staff, fun cruise by ctwahl9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything went very well for us on our Freedom of the Seas cruise. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. I was very impressed. Even the guests were all well behaved and friendly. The shows were wonderful, the best I have ever seen on a cruise. They had plenty of fun activities for everyone. We were cruising over Halloween so they had a big Halloween parade which was lots of fun. The only thing I can think to mention that I didn't care for was the temperature of the water in the pools. Everyone would cringe as they tried to enter, it was so cold. They could do with heating the water a little to take the icy edge off! All in all, a great fun time.

The cruise was amazing and the crew member was very nice.  I believe there should be some improvement on the evening shows and food in the café

Freedom of the Seas by dejoieful

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

My favorite part was my dinning experience were I met some incredible people Angelica and Vasha at Leonardos.  They were amazing and so helpful and great with the kids.  The staff at the WindJammer was amazing to so welcoming and friendly.  I work in customer service myself and If the people I worked with was as delightful as your staff I would never go on vacation and I would prefer to stay home.  I also want to show my appreciation for Damien from Jamaica who worked on the 7th floor that cleaned my room as well he did such a great job and was so great with the kids as well.

Who is the new head chef and why is his food so bad by lbarfield7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

I love RCCL and especially the Freedom but this cruise had just barely good food and I am used to very very good food. My husband missed the Duck L'orange especially since he always looks forward to it because it is off the menu.***

I slept horribly because they put in new mattresses that were pillow top but there was no pillow. The top section that held the pillow was empty, no padding in it.***  The lady who was in charge of the wheel chairs upon disembarcation was disorganized rude and frazzled. Due to this several of the people became very angry. I have had to use this service many times and this was a disaster. No list was followed and we were the last people on the ship. She needs to be spoken to about her treatement  to the passengers,

Will miss the Freedom of the Seas by taylor01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

This ship is beautiful.  The cruise Director Casey Pelter is awesome.  There are so many things to do.  The dining room service was above and beyond!!!  Daniel our waiter and Rizky his assistant were the best!!! The ship was decorated for Halloween.  So sad the Freedom won't be leaving from Port Canaval anymore.  It is the most convenient place to board.  Can't say enough good things about this ship and its staff.

Cruise Review by starwoot

Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

My favorite part of the cruise was just about everything. Excellent customer service. Dinning room and the wonderful service we received was second to none! The Internet connection was not the best and a little pricy for me. Yes, I would most definitely recommend this cruise line to any and everyone!

Hand Foot Mouth Disease! Not a good cruise for young kids! by MomOfToddler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

Babies and toddlers are confined to two small areas.. a very small splash pool (not the larger H2O splash zone which we thought was allowed for babies before booking), and a small room they put a mat and a few toys in during the day before kicking you out promptly at 5 PM to make way for teenagers.  They frequently forgot sanitizing wipes in that room, and sure enough our son caught hand foot mouth disease.  Another mom on board said her baby caught 5th disease.  Another pain point was dinner at night.  They didn't sit families together, and we felt strong UNWELCOME vibes from those around us without kids who didn't appreciate the disturbance.  All that said, we did like our balcony room and stateroom attendant.  She cleaned the diapers from the trash multiple times per day.  It was nice to enjoy the extra space for our son to play in the room and opportunity to sit on the balcony while he slept.

Outstanding service by robertmckee9966

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

The cruise was ok if you really didn't want to go to where you were supposed to go. First we left 4 hours late, while going to our room a lady in a scooter ran over my toe. No one in charge just everyone crowding onto the elevators. While waiting I went to the customer services and asked for a deck of cards, was told they were all out. So off we go and we where told the first stop was cancelled because they were afraid of the weather so we chug on going so fast in a calm sea that everyone was sea sick. The last day before port I went to medical because by now my toe was black. The doctor gives me some pills and says no charge just see your own doctor. Is that night I go and settle up the trip. I ask if the bills were complete and I was told yes. Just to make sure I told them of the medical visit. They checked and said no charge. A month later they take $150. Dollars from my checking account. I appealed and they put it back. A couple weeks go by and they take it out again. This time they just keep it. It's a shame that they had to rob a disabled handicapped couple of that money. They wouldn't miss it but it meant a lot to us on the disability. If I ever cruise again it will not be Royal Caribbean, Freedom of the Seas.

Freedom of the Seas cruise by bjszabo98

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

First time on Royal Caribbean in a few years.  The shows are amazing, the ship is beautiful, the food at lunch and dinner leaves much to be desired.  No map of the ship upon arrival, common areas are small and very crowded, anytime dining can only make reservations at 5:15, 5:30 or 5:45, No CNBC on TV, No descent movies on tv or in the shows,  no movies on the big screen during the day around the pool and this checking out and checking in towels around the pool was nuts.  Last day everyone was complaining because they were charged $25.00 for those tread bare towels (they obviously left them on the chase lounges and did not get credit for them, their bad).

Beautiful Ship! by unclehummer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

We spent the last week on the Freedom of the Seas in the eastern caribbean. We loved the ship but were VERY disappointed with the food on board. Also, due to rough seas, we were not able to stop at Coco Cay which is not the fault of RCCL but we do think they could have substituted another port like San Juan. This was a 7 day cruise which now left only St Thomas and St Martin on the itinerary. 4 days at sea in my opinion is too many.

Aging UNgracefully and appears unloved by dnp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part of the cruise was being back on the ocean again.

This was our forth cruise on the Freedom from Port Canaveral, FL. It was a bit sad to see the ship in such poor condition. Most of the carpeting, furniture and bedding are in need of replacement.  The cigarette smoke was throughout the ship. Nightclubs have turned into specialty resturants.  There is little you can do on the ship that won't cost you extra money.  The food quality was severly below par for Royal Caribbean.  Plus, services are more limited as they have reduced staff.

We would recommend this cruise and most importantly this ship.  It has been the best ship with the friendliest crew we have ever taken and we will take it again.

Complimenting crew members by Lolly43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

My favorite part is about the hospitality of the crews especially

at the Squeeze bar with Aldwin Cedo and Benjie Miranda.

Also awesome service from Karen Coleen Hall and Lawry D'Cruz.

At the Windjammer Yang Xiao Lin was very polite and was always smiling ..

I'm a Diamond now and this is my 1st time on the Freedom of the Seas.

I have already booked another sailing in October 2017 on the Harmony..

im so very excited..

Wonderful Escape from Reality by lisalockert

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

Despite the rough waters the first couple of days, my husband and I had the greatest time ever.  It was the first time we were able to truly escape reality and be able to relax and unwind.  The staff was wonderful and very friendly.  Freedom of the sea is just the perfect size to allow people to be as involved in activities as they want or to just relax and do nothing.  For us we were somewhere in the middle, a lot of relaxation and still involved in many activities.  I even checked off by bucket list by climbing on the rock wall.  Now that may not seem like a great accomplishment, but believe me it was tough…  Our dinner experience in the main dining was outstanding.  Our waiter was Livingston and I missed him on our first day home.  He made the experience even more wonderful and entertaining.

Disappointed by shawnkelly1217gmailcom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

What should have been a marvelous cruise by a Diamond member ended being much less ...From wrong room assignments...Lack of acknowledgement of Diamond status (had to go to the service desk to get our benefits loaded onto our cards (Gavron, I think)...To shuttle transfers not being found on the manifest but I was able to produce proof of purchase/same thing happened heading back... The worse was " a dried lump of poop" being found stuck on a fresh towel...YUCK!! This was reported to the service desk with many apologies received from the young lady

The saving graces were our Dining Room staff members...O'Neill and Princess (the name fits) went out of their way to make our evening meals memorable ones (great personalities) and they were loaded with information about our ports of call...Kadeem Matthews in the Windjammer is also another person worth noting for his quiet, accomodating and caring demeanor.

GREAT FREEDOM OF THE SEAS CRUISE! by lpncook

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I enjoyed the food, drinks and hospitality.  Everyone was very attentive.  There was a good selection of activities to choose from on the ship.  I also liked visiting the islands.  I would have liked to stop at another island as a substitute for Coco Bay, since we were not able to visit there.  The only negative experience was the handling of the ship photos.  The delay of delivery of the computer disks was unacceptable.  I know that some people are still waiting for their disks.
