Always an amazing vacation experience with Royal Caribbean! All of the food was delicious, the service was personable & extremely accommodating, the ports of call were heavenly, the entertainment was top quality & diverse. You could be as active or relaxed as you wished.

We enjoyed this cruise. We basically picked the cruise by the ports they were stopping at.

:'( we didn't have a good cruise :'( by Dee02554

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Ship is Not handicap friendly, buttons don’t work , doors don’t open , raised door sill into bathroom, there was no seat in shower despite written request with reservations & request verification before sailing ( service desk said “ yes yes yes “ )still had to contact housekeeping before one was found & brought to room , large shower open on 2 sides shower curtain only covers 1 side , so no mater how you work it 1/2 of bathroom drenched Entire ship is a trip hazard , multiple floor elevation changes with no variation in coloring as warning boarding ship at EVERY port was humiliating, I have a right below knee amputation and the metal hardware sets off alarms , I understand the FULL strip & pat down the first couple of times ..... but EVERY TIME ? 2 & 3 times a day ? I got more action from the security lady then I did from my husband Dining room : seating is So Packed & tight there is little room to navigate, constant bump & bang from waitstaff & next table Food so-so , English truffle , advertised as “ sponge cake marinated in sherry” was JELLO , if I wanted jello I would go to buffet. Waitstaff was wonderful, friendly.. to bad food did not love up to the waitstaff THE KEY :CHOPS on embarkation day was wonderful, but that was the only thing about “ THE KEY “ that worked , advanced easy access for boarding was a joke , there was a mass surge of humanity and all Handicap, mobility challenged or wheel chair cruisers were trampled , internet sucked , reserved hours for attractions were seldom, only one attraction a day ,always at inconvenient times, who wants to climb rock wall from 9-10 PM. Room 1814 was a beautiful panoramic ocean view , Handicapped accessible room , AC was horrible, cooler out on deck then in room , drapes had to be keep closed during the day or the room became unbearable . Closed at night or light effected the Bridge , There was SO much movement on deck 12 during sea days that I experienced my first bought of sea sickness ( born & raised on an island & on boats big & small ) Evening movies on big screen : current movies , mission impossible, ant man , crazy Asians .....but they started at 6 so anyone with early diner reservations only saw the end of them , no blankets, popcorn..... no “ movie under the stars “ Ports were great , did ship excursions in Bonaire & St Martian , (make your reservations online well in advance , most excursions were full at boarding ) no consistency with towels for excursions, on ship , off ship ...... get yours by the pool and if attendant asks you tell him your going to use them on board 24 hour coffee shop doesn’t start making coffee until 6:30 , pastries are not made fresh but are frozen , Ice coffee is 2 punches on card , if you have a reusable straw bring it with you as paper ones on board collapse quickly

I felt that we got exactly what we paid for. The staff were pleasant although there was some discontent obvious. NEED TO BE MORE AWARE OF PROPER HEALTH PRECAUTIONS.

Great trip on a nice ship by KirkinPA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our first cruise on Royal Caribbean, all our previous cruises (5) had been on Celebrity. I thought the Freedom of the Seas compared well with our previous Celebrity experiences, and and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food.

Awesome Caribbean Cruise by amonroe10909907

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my 11 th cruise and my 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean. It was one of my very best cruise experiences. Lovely ship. Had the most awesome weather 80s and sunny for a whole week. Great ports of call. I did not have a bad meal the whole trip. Windjammer(the buffet restaurant) has really improved the quality and selection of food. The mexican specialty restaurant was worth the extra $25 per person. I will definitely sail with Royal Caribbean again.

Southern Caribbean out of San Juan by MamaBull

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I enjoyed this itinerary but would prefer a newer/bigger ship like the Allure. Overall, we loved the staff, food and drink. It was easy to get around the ship as it seems smaller than the Allure, although when compared they are similar.

Seasoned cruiser who loves cruising. I have been on all the major cruise lines and most of the smaller ones, and have done the tropical and Alaskan cruises.

Overall great cruise experience. The ports were nice and the time spent in each port was just enough. The shows on board were really good and plenty of food to eat!

Amazing Royal Caribbean experience on Freedom of the Seas by AmberInDallas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This cruise was with a friend, we felt this itinerary was one of the best offered by Royal Caribbean for a Caribbean cruise and we were not disappointed. The ship is a little older and a bit smaller than the mega ships of Royal Caribbean, but there are SO MANY activities on board you will never get bored and the ship is run perfectly. They've done great at preventing bottlenecks at food buffets, when exiting/entering the ship at port...this is one of my most favorite boats to sail on. The staff is also exceptional on Freedom of the Seas.

Great Time!! by JAMcouple

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Last time we cruised with our kids on a smaller ship, this time was just about relaxing, we loved that we could just do our own thing even with 4000 plus people and all the activities provided, it was easy to just do our own thing, plan our meals, relax and hang out. You don't expect that on a big ship.

Over the Top Caribbean Cruise by loganair84

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Enjoyed it very much, would do it again. Freedom of the Sea's did a wonderful job in all areas. They were quick to have someone with Purell hand cleansing liquid on hand in the eating areas as well as when we disembarked and returned to the ship.

Very disappointed. About 70% of the passengers were families from Puerto Rico and many were rude when it came to elevators, etc. by dpatris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the ports we visited and the excellent service from the staff in the main dining room. Did not appreciate people trying to sell us something everywhere on the ship and definitely did not appreciate the rude Spanish-speaking passengers who had no regard for others. This cruise was expensive due to it being over New Year's and it was definitely not worth the money. On our other cruise, we enjoyed the steel drum band at the pool playing Caribbean music. On this cruise, we did not have that. It seemed it was not about the Caribbean experience, rather it was about the Latin experience instead. Not what we thought we signed up for.

The Sunshine and Islands were amazing - cruise itself, meh. by smalcolm1970

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Because the ship sailed out of Puerto Rico, 90% of the people on the ship were Puerto Rican/spanish speaking and the whole cruise/activities seemed to center around that. We felt like outsiders most of the time. We went to a line dancing class which ended up being latin dancing, for example. We won't choose that as a destination to leave from again.

Awesome Southern Caribbean cruise vacation by edison0305

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was a great experience. It was the quickest and smoothest embarkation and disembarkation we experience from our 3 cruise vacations, 2 others are from different cruise companies. Interior design of this ship is also impressive specially the 5th level where all the restaurants, shops, bars, etc. are located.
