Review summary

Our first cruise on Royal Caribbean, all our previous cruises (5) had been on Celebrity. I thought the Freedom of the Seas compared well with our previous Celebrity experiences, and and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food.

Embarkation

Hectic, but organized. We arrived very early to embark; just after Royal Caribbean opened the doors.

Food and Dining

We ate in the main dining room for supper (all 13 of our party together) and the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch. Food was fresh, good quality, and prepared well.

Onboard Activities

Most of our party spent time around the pools. The only issues I had were with two classes (Mixology and Martinis) that I tried to attend and could not (first class was full when I arrived), and the second (after I arrived 30 minutes early) was cancelled because there were too few people.

Entertainment

Comedian/Magician; Singer/Entertainer; Comedian were very good. Musical productions were pretty good.

All very friendly and helpful; our evening waiter and assistant waiter forged a close bond with us during the trip.

Plenty of room in the cabin; several of our party had adjoining rooms, so we had our steward open the balcony dividers in between; we did our own happy hour each evening with our group.
