Long awaited cruise by MaryannZ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Spectacular!! decribes the ship in one word. The service, the cleanliness, all the decor. I especially thought the gym was fantastic. Never had a problem getting to use any machine or treadmill.

Great Cruise! - RCL is the best! by KennyL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Freedom of the Seas is a wonderful ship, clean, nicely decorated and offers activities and shows for everyone. Its amazing how RCL utilizes every inch of space on the ship to provide great activities, restaurants, shopping, events and shows. There is so much to do on the ship, there is no way you can ever get bored. The Cruise Director was absolutely the best and he made the experience wonderful. Highly recommend the Freedom of the seas to anyone.

Cruise Review: Freedom of the Seas by MelissaL4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Freedom of the Seas is a very huge ship, but nice. There are about 15 levels, plenty of dining rooms to choose from, the gym is well equipped with a sauna. Overall the ship itself is nice.

The Holiday of a lifetime!! by LauraP3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We booked the cruise for a 40th brithday present for my husband and we wanted an holiday of a lifetime. We certainly got that! We chose Royal Caribbean as it seemed to be great for us and the kids. We could not believe our eyes when we saw the 'Freedom of the Seas' on the outside and the inside. I was slightly nervous about cruising thinking it would be staid and boring but it was completely the reverse. I made sure my 6 year old daughter wrote a diary as there was so much to do and remember and i didn't want her forget anything. It is a truely remarkable and wonderful memory and i hope she will treasure the book and all the items stuck in from our travels. Thanks for memories!!

A great cruise vacation! by IraN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just returned from a seven day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Freedom of the Seas. The ship was beautiful, clean and an engineering marvel. Even though the cruise was sold out, the ship never really felt crowded. The was always somewhere to go for peace and quiet. The 3 deck high dining room was beautiful. It felt as if we were dining in a 5 star restaurant. The service was fantastic from everyone on the dining staff. Too bad the food did not match the service. While it was generally o.k., it was nothing special. Then again, we are both non-meat eaters so maybe the meat dished were better than the fish and vegetarian dishes. Best of all was the entertainment, especially the cruise director. He was very funny with being the stereotype of the typical cruise director. The ice show was excellent as were the comedians and 2 production shows. For such a large ship, boarding and disembarking was surprising fact and painless. The only problem was at the port of Miami retrieving our bags from the airport type carousel. It took about 40 minutes before our bags arrived. The older method of locating our bags arranged by the color tags was much faster.

The Big Wait by JimL

Sail date: /
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

You had to wait in line to find a table in the main restaurant, (the one you did not have to pay extra to eat in) you had to wait to get off or on the ship. If you were going to go on an excursion you had to wait. Now I been on many cruise before and I know there is some waiting in lines involved but this one was the worst by a long shot. Bigger is not always better, ever port the ship stop at there were 3400 passengers coming behind you and thats if your are the only ship in port, the only thing you did not have to wait for was the guy trying to get you to buy another drink from the bar. But by far the worst part of the cruise was how Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines nickel and dime you, there is nothing on this cruise except the food in the free restaurants that they do not charge you for. My bar bill was unbelievable and I am not a big drinker $2.00 for an 8oz. soft drink $5.00 for a 12 oz beer, $8.95 for a mixed drink. When I order a beer I asked for a cup of ice which I poured my beer into to help keep it cool and they charged me a $1.00 for the cup of ice, so I ended up paying $6.00 for a 12oz. can of beer

Time of Your Life by EmilyM3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I don't have too much to compare it to, but the ship is beautiful and you can be busy all day and have a great time. What I liked about the ship is there were people of all ages and it is a great ship to spend with your children and grandchildren. Also it accomodates young families and people of need.

Nice Cruise But Terrible Guest Relations by BenT48598222

Sail date: /
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship is no doubt the biggest and has many nice features and entertainments for toddler and adults but not for babies 1 to 2 years old. The kitty pools are only for kids who are potty trained already. Otherwise, the kids are limited to tiny, dinky, little splash pool no bigger than a large jacuzzi. We stayed in a suite and the ammenities are just terrific as well. Bad experience: We booked our cruise 6 months in advance when there was a promo by RCI on $100 on board spending. This promo is written on the reservation and payment documents by but never acknowledge by the RCI. So, don't trust this kind of promo ever. Better to get $100 deducted of your fare. Guest Relations on board the ship says never send them any notifications and try to blame each other. Such a bad rep. Well, I think I will shop somewhere else for my next cruise. For this I give a non-recommendation ratings.

the freedom of the seas was out standing by IngridD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailed on the Freedom of the Seas on August 31st to Sept 7th. And the Captain did a great job of keeping us away from the hurricanes. The ship itself is just beautiful. It is like a dream inside. So many things to do,and the food was always there for you to eat. I recomend Freedom of the Seas to anyone. It was just a dream.

Freedom of the Seas! by TacA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship is extremely impressive. One week on the ship and I know we were still seeing new things on the last day. This was our 16th cruise and this ship had the most to offer. There is something for everyone whether you want to be physically active every minute of the day or if you want to be quiet and restful for the trip.

Loved this ship.! by PamG3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loved this ship. The room attendants and wait staff were excellent. The cruise Director was almost as good as the outstanding entertainment. You could never get this kind of value on land. There was something for everyone and I never worried about the safety of my son. If you were bored on this ship it was your own fault!

Un crucero maravilloso e inolvidable by MariaJ5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A Great Ship by EdF3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Ship was by far the nicest I have been on, overall rating would be fantasic except 2 issues. Sewage smell in the aft stairways, was noticeable everyday and was strong on some occations. The food was my biggest problem. The formal meals were good but not great like I have expierienced on 2 other cruises. The buffet food was very run of the mill in comparison also, and the buffet serving times were very limiting. When I registered a complaint to the head of the Customer relations, it was not taken in a very customer friendly manner. This was a large disapointment to me. If you like Pizza and burgers, this is for you.
