Did not have children. I was happy to see that the kids on board were given a class from the Alaskan Park Rangers that boarded the ship and narrated through Glacier Bay.

I was a little worried that I should have upgraded until we entered the room………we were pleasantly surprised and will probably book a similar room on any future cruises.
Ship tip
You won’t be in Canada long so exit the ship as soon as docked. While there make all purchases with a credit card that doesn’t charge foreign exchange fees…….do not use cash. Every thing we purchased was charged less than the prices shown on tags.
We cruised through Glacier Bay guided by Alaskan Park Rangers. The Experience was Perfect!!!! Weather was Perfect!!!!! Captain was able to get us within what seemed to be 100 yards from John’s Hopkins Glacier, such an experience!!!! The Captain announced on the speaker that all crew could leave there posts to enjoy the views and take photos as the conditions for viewing were so perfect, thought that was extremely awesome of Captain!!!!
Loved this port, did not have time for anything other than our excursion…….which I highly recommend. We booked the excursion through Holland America and it did not disappoint!!!! We did sea kayaking with Southeast Exposure, our guides were Jackson and Clementine. We would do the excursion again!
We arrived early but did not spend much time in Victoria. We were having dinner and opted to sit at a shared table, we were having such a nice time at dinner chatting with the other Cruisers that we didn’t exit the boat upon arrival. We did get to quickly take in some sights of Victoria, British Columbia and do a little shopping. What we seen of Victoria was beautiful. The shopping was great!
I’m glad you had a great time. It’s a shame you didn’t get to spend more time in Victoria. It really is a nice city. If you ever decide to do Alaska again try to drive up to Vancouver. It’s really a tremendous city and you could spend a couple of days there. If you go to Alaska again, what the White Pass railway tour next time you won’t be disappointed.
